John Nelson Bryan Sr.
Services for Mr. Bryan will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Shop Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Goad and the Rev. Kenneth Tramel officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 4-8 p.m. and one hour before services Thursday.
Mr. Bryan, 90, of Shop Springs Community, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at his residence. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Yorktown between 1937-1941. Mr. Bryan worked at Final Assembly Management AVCO between 1941-1980. He was a member of the Shop Springs Baptist Church were he served as a Deacon and was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hugh Bryan Sr. and Annie Laurie Donnell Bryan; sister, Mary Nelle Hahn and brother James Hugh Bryan Jr.
Survivors include: wife of 66 years, Dorothy White Bryan of Shop Springs; daughter, Lynda Ann Sparkman of Shop Springs; son, John Nelson (Sandi) Bryan Jr. of Shop Springs; grandsons, Chip (Tracie) Sparkman and Trey Bryan; granddaughters, Laurie Morris, Carla (Jeff) Greenblatt, Doralyn (Dustin) Liddell and Tenesha Blanco and great-grandchildren, Irlyn, Jake, Rissa and Bryanna Morris, Samantha and Sarah Greenblatt, Hailey and Dylan Speck, Cooper Sparkman, Tyler Bryan and Blake Blanco.
