Dorothy Helen Carpenter
Services for Mrs. Carpenter will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Partlow Funeral Chapelwith the Revs. Michael Carpenter and Brent Davis officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carpenter, 81, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at Lebanon Health and Rehab. She was founder/owner of Carpenterâ€™s Quality Appliance, a charter member of Westland United Methodist Church, member of the Gideonâ€™s Auxiliary, mended hearts Ch. 29 and worked with the American Heart Association.
She was preceded in death by parents, Will and Nolie Climer Pulley; husband, Will Allen Carpenter; brother, Edward Pulley; and sisters, Callie Spain Lankford and Lillian Jones. Survivors include: sons, Randy (Nita) and Perry (Becky) Carpenter; daughters, Jady (Danny) Norton and Corinne (Jim) Heller; grandchildren, Michelle (John) Watson, Michael (Amanda) Carpenter, Dana Carpenter, Angela (Randy) Hankins, Lori (Ben) Knox, Mark (Amanda) Norton and Michael (Melinda) Heller; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Norton, Randy Hankins, Ben Knox, Jonathan Lackey, Michael Heller, Darren and Kevin Helton, Woody Hicks and Charles Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present employees of Carpenterâ€™s Quality Appliance and members of Westland United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Westand United Methodist Church and the Gideonâ€™s International.
Sheila Diane Smith
Services for Mrs. Smith will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 at Sellars Funeral Home with Bros. Jason Haskin, Rodney Haskin and Danny Sellars officiating. Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, noon-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. until the service Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith, 54, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008.
She was preceded in death by father, Bro. William Johnson; sister, Sharon Hawkes; brother, William Darryl Johnson; and granddaughter, Kayla Smith. Survivors include: husband of 34 years, Don Smith of Lebanon; children, Don (Sarah) and Sandra Diane Smith, both of Lebanon; mother, Doris Downs Johnson; sisters, Susan (Johnny) Yount of Cherry Valley and Belinda (David) Cox of Alexandria; brother, Tim (Dora) Johnson of Norene; brother-in-law, Michael Hawkes; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Mike) Grandstaff and Debbie (Richard) Pratt, both of Lebanon; and grandchildren, Ryan, Courtney and Katie Smith.
