Charles Samuel Moscato Sr.

Services for Mr. Moscato will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at Sellars Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Moscato Jr. and Bro. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Moscato, 89, of Lebanon, died Monday, June 2, 2008. He was the 1937 featherweight Golden Gloves Boxing Champion in Buffalo, N.Y., a World War II veteran, in Company B of the 817th Tank Destroyer Battalion, a truck driver with Lake Shore Delivery and Wheeler Express for 36 years, and a member and Deacon of Freedonia Assembly of God. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was known for his Healing Hands Massage Ministry.

He was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Jenny Laduca Moscato; sisters, Jennie Morrison, Sarah Polvino and Rose Mancuso; brother, Ross Moscato; and grandchild, Gina Marie Kordon. Survivors include: wife of 62 years, Dowlene Roberts Moscato of Lebanon; daughters, Rose Ann (Charles) Kordon and Charlene Moscato, both of Lebanon; son, Charles (Lori) Moscato Jr. of Olive Branch, Miss.; grandchildren, Charlotte Llobet, Charles (Sherry) Kordon Jr. and Joshua and Lauren Moscato; and great-grandchildren, Jesse White and Cailei and Chelsei Kordon.
