Ernest Lee Graves
Services for Mr. Graves will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Smyrna Firs United Methodist Church with Dr. John Michael Jones officiating. Interment will be in Mapleview Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
Mr. Graves, 86, of Smyrna, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Wilson County. He retired as vice president of Betty Machine Company. He was the former chairman of the board of Smyrna First United Methodist Church and the former district lay leader for the Murfreesboro district.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Graves and Rosa Wigg Graves Coleman.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Emma Graves; a daughter, Melinda (Lyron) Potts of Smyrna; three son, Sam (Gwen) Graves of Smyrna, Tom (Sandy) Graves of Murfreesboro and Ernest (Connie) Graves of Smyrna; a brother, Monroe Graves of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Frances Maddux of Mt. Juliet and Marie King of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Sam Graves, Jr., Sherry Landtroop, Leah Graves, Andrew Graves, Michael Potts, David Potts, Phillip Graves and Luke Graves; two great-grandchildren, John Graves and Logan Potts.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Young Men's Sunday School class at Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
