Thellie Christine Allen

Services for Mrs. Allen will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tim Diffenderfer officiating. Interment will be in Talley Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Allen, 91, of Alexandria, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 at Quality Care Nursing Home in Lebanon. She was a retired shirt factory worker and member of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death parents, Dossie and Thellie Lemons Sellars; and husband of 50 years, Wade Allen. Survivors include: children, Bobbie Nell (Jimmy) Staley of Gallatin, Willie B. Allen of Donelson and George Allen of Alexandria; grandchildren, Allen (Melissa) Staley of Franklin and Sharon (Robert) Dunn of Bloomington, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Kaitlin and Rachel Dunn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church or Talley Cemetery.

Ralph Bennett

Services for Mr. Bennett will be 1 p.m. Wednesday. Oct. 15, at Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Bro. Chuck Groover and Bro. Joey Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Gordonsville Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 15. from 11 a.m. until service.

Mr. Bennett, 73, of Old Hickory, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Summit Medical Center. He was a graduate of Gordonsville High School and served two years in the United States Army. Mr. Bennett worked 40 years as a salesman with Cordage Paper Company of Nashville until his retirement May 31, 2001. He attended Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mai Edith Jones and Alonzo Bennett.
Survivors include: wife of 50 years, Marie Maynard Bennett of Old Hickory; sons, Scott Bennett and Todd Bennett, both of Old Hickory; brother, Jerry (Ardelia) Bennett of Lebanon; nephew, Stacy (Carla) Bennett of Lebanon and great nieces, Allie Jayne and Anna Mai Bennett.

Bass Funeral Homes, Gordonsville Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
