Joe Donnell Bogle

Services for Mr. Bogle will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Locke officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and noon to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bogle, 85, of Lebanon, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Mr. Bogle was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He worked as a tool and die maker at Robert Shaw for more than 30 years and attended Immanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in the death by granddaughter, Wendy Jo Gilley; parents, Chatham Bogle and Geneva Jennings Bogle; and uncle, Lowell Afton Bogle.

Survivors include: wife of 66 years, Lucille Jennings Bogle; sons, Billy Joe (Jusy) Bogle of Jacksonville, Fla. and Robert Lynn (Treva) Bogle of Lebanon; grandchildren, Scott Allen (Kim) Bogle of Lebanon, Brooke (Brady) Palmer of Lebanon, and Clay (Brett) Rozell of Antioch; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ed Jennings, Brady Palmer, Brett Rozell, Scott Allen Bogle, Kelvin Caldwell and Tony Caldwell.

Honorary pallbearers will be L.D. Penuel, Johnny Penuel, Roger Penuel, Eugene Penuel, Nathan Gilley, Clay Alden Palmer, Watson Palmer, Linden Palmer and Brian Bogle.

Lloyd Elkin Brown

Services for Mr. Brown will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with the Rev. Roland Scruggs officiating. Interment will be in the Leeville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 9, after 10 a.m.

Mr. Brown, 57, of Lebanon, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at his residence. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1969 and received his masters of arts in English from Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Brown was a member of the Leeville United Methodist Church, Watertown Arts Guild, The Sierra Club and Amnesty International. He was an English Professor at Vol State Community College in Gallatin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Colonel Harvey Lloyd Brown Jr. and Lucy Elkins Scott Brown and brother, Harvey LeGrand Brown.

Survivors include: wife, Billye Bryant Brown; son, Casey Brown of Murfreesboro and sister-in-law, Clara Bryant.

Pallbearers will be Chip Flippen, David Johnson, Mike Singleton, Wesley Neeley, Roger Holman, David Coe and Dustin Napier.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Wilson County Humane Association.

Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Maclynn R. Crawford

Memorial services for Mrs. Crawford will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at First Presbyterian Church with Drs. John Cheetham and Larry Locke officiating. Ann Evins Doak will give the eulogy. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Crawford, 74, of Lebanon, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at Alive Hospice. She was a homemaker, member of First Presbyterian Church and a 1952 graduate of Lebanon High School, where she played basketball, was a cheerleader, was named Miss High School and was president of the Beta Club. She was a member of Lebanon Golf and Country Club.

She was preceded in death by parents, James MacVay and Emma Lena Austin; grandparents, Bertha (Mamie) Austin and Luther and Rose Armacher Jones; and aunt, Annie Lee Franklin; Survivors include: husband of 56 years, James W. "Jimmie" Crawford; son, J. Cary (June) Crawford of Lebanon; daughters, Debi Lynn (Tommy) Hartson of Nashville and Dana Leigh (Jeff) Stroop of Murfreesboro; sister, Pamela Faye Byrd; and grandchildren, Brad and Cody Crawford and Kelsey and Kaley Stroop.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Harston, Jeff Stroop, the Lebanon Noon Rotary Club and all AA members.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Brenda Gayle Eastland

Servies for Ms. Eastland will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. juliet with Bro. David Freeman officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Eastland, 58, of Lebanon, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008. She was a registered nurse at Centennial Medical Center for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by parents, Dorothy and Willie Williams and brother, Donnie Williams. Survivors include: daughter, Melissa Eastland Hamilton of Mt. Juliet; sons, Bobby Eastland Jr. of Lebanon and Bryan Eastland of Mt. Juliet; daughters-in-law, Lisa Gabany Eastland of Lebanon and Jamie Eastland of Mt. Juliet; father of her children, Bobby Eastland Sr. of Mt. Juliet; sister, Patsy (Randall) McGill of Lavergne; brothers, Robert (Linda) Williams of Triune and Billy Williams of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Hunter and Tayler Eastland, Skylar and Gage Eastland and Patrick and Dalton Hamilton; friend, Sue Gabany; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Vic Gabany, Randall and Steve McGill, Kevin, Jimmy and Paul WIlliams, and Mike Malcolm.

Elizabeth Milliken

Services for Mrs. Milliken will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Bros. James Gordon and Wayne Jamison officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Milliken, 62, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 at University Medical Center. She was a homemaker and member of Hurricane Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, James Albert and Zina Lee Bowman; and several brothers, sisters, step-brothers and step-sisters. Survivors include: husband of 25 years, Jackie Milliken; sons, Ricky (Rhonda), Jimmy Dale and Joey Medlin, and Jack (Paula) and Marty (Kimberly) Milliken; three brothers; four sisters; grandchildren, Jonathan Davis, Christopher and Peyton Medlin, Edward and Jessica Milliken, Ashley Rouse, Amber and Kevin Lanclos and Brandon and Brittany Milliken; and great-grandchild, Jayden Borrow.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association.

Elizabeth Dickens Whited

Services for Mrs. Whited will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Johnson and the Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 9, after 9 a.m.

Mrs. Whited, 81, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Cedars Health Care. She was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene and retired from Texas Boot Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Earl Whited; parents, John Paul and Ruby Hesson Dickens and sister, Dot Edwards.

Survivors include: children, Beverly Cowan, Lebanon, Ann Edens, Lebanon, Darlene (J.W.) Johnson, Jasper, Ala., Tina (Albert) Tomlinson, Smithville, and Chris (Debbie) Whited, Lebanon; sisters, Frances (Nat) Lindsley, Lebanon, and Thelma Ingram, Broken Arrow, Okla.; brother, Johnny (Louise) Dickens, Lebanon; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association.
