Fred T. Baker
Services for Mr. Baker will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Bros. Bill Hassell and Don Harper officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Baker, 80, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008. He was employed with the State of Tennessee Unemployment Security and a member of 11th Street Church of Christ in Nashville.
He was preceded in death by parents, Fred Sr. and Hattie Sidney Carpenter Baker; daughter, Virginia Smith; granddaughters, Tammy Harrington and Mallory Ledbetter; and great-grandson, Kaleb Bishop. Survivors include: wife of 61 years, Ruby Baker of Nashville; sons, Donald Baker of Florida, David (Dianne) Baker of Hendersonville, Thomas Baker of Cannon County and James Robert (Anna) Baker of Nashville; daughter, Debbie (Homer) Harvey of Clarksville; sister, Jewell Dennison of Lebanon; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of 11th Street Church of Christ.
Services for Mrs. Gilliland will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Interment will be in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gilliland, 70, of Union City, died Sept. 16, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. She was born in Moscow, Ky., daughter of the late James Velton “Chick” and Lena Mae Bragg Myatt. She was a retired dietitian’s aide for the Obion County Nursing Home, where she was employed for several years. She was a Baptist and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Jones-Walker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4862.
She was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Gladys Allcock and Jane Cooper; and brothers, James Edward Myatt, Billy Hoover Myatt, Harold Eugene Myatt and Paul Thomas Myatt.
Survivors include: husband, B. Gilliland; daughters, Sherry (Tab) Kirkland of Lebanon and Cathy L. Gibson of Union City; son, Kip (Jenny) Gilliland of Union City; sister, Janet Morgan of Sidonia community; grandchildren, Abbie Hawks, Heather Gilliland and Andrew Gibson, all of Union City, and Wade Kirkland and Kristin Kirkland, both of Lebanon; great-granddaughter, Cara Hawks of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Morgan, Mike Morgan, Joey Allcock, Eddie Myatt, Ricky Harris and Nicky Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Cooper, Wade Kirkland, Andrew Gibson, Tab Kirkland, Randy Myatt, Ronnie Myatt, Steve Myatt and Tim Myatt.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
Inita "Snow" Hancock
Services for Ms. Hancock will be noon Saturday, Sept. 20 at Mt. Juliet AME Church with the Rev. Tim Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ararat Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.
Ms. Hancock, 63, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 at University Medical Center.
Survivors include: mother, Ruby Jackson of Mt. Juliet; sisters, Frederica (Kenneth) Frazier of Mt. Juliet and Helen Alberson of Nashville; brother, Wilbert (Lorraine) Muse of Battle Creek, Mich.; and other relatives and friends.
Hellum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Dillon Smith
Services for Mrs. Smith will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in Columbia, Ky. with Dr. Ron Brown officiating. Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mt. Juliet.
Mrs. Smith, 85, of Mt. Juliet, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008. She was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Bertha Patterson Smith; and husband, Lee Smith. Survivors include: daughter, Kim (Brad) Cather and granddaughter, Brienn (Andrew) Klahn, both of Mt. Juliet.
