Virginia Catherine Evans
Services for Mrs. Evans will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Bro. John Petree officiating. Interment will be in Jackson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Evans, 78, of Lebanon, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at University Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Pascal and Lenore Dorris; one sister and three brothers. Survivors include: husband, Bill Evans; sons, Ron (Mary) Evans, Jimmy (Lisa) Evans, Bill (Jen) Evans and Tim Evans; daughters, Brenda (Bill) Merrick and Anita Jackson; brothers Billy and Tony Dorris; sister, Sheila (Richard) McFadden; and 18 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Services for Mrs. Goolsby will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Partlow Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Buckner officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Goolsby, 83, of Lebanon died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Universal Medical Center. She was a retired seamstress and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by husband, Desmon Dare Goolsby; infant son, Clifford Goolsby; parents Cham and Beulah Goolsby; sister, Ina Lackey; and brothers, Marson and Eugene Goolsby. Survivors include: son, Louis (Teresa) Goolsby of Jamestown; daughters, Inez Williams of Lebanon and Mildred Jenkins of Brush Creek; brother, Hugh Goolsby of Lebanon; grandchildren, Tommy Williams, Jeffrey (Pam) Williams, Timmy (Angela) Goolsby, Tammy (Jeremy) Judkins, Diane (James) Turpen, Matthew Jenkins and Melanie (John) Hobson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Vivian Foster Doak Hinson
Services for Mrs. Hinson will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 14 at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Dr. John Cheetham officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Foster, 86, of Lebanon, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at Lebanon Health and Rehab Center. She was an interior designer and a Presbyterian.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ervin and Pauline Doak; and husband, William Henry Hinson. Survivors include: daughter, Helen (Ed) Albright of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, John (Virginia) Doak of Birmingham, Ala. and Charles (Donette) Doak of Lebanon; grandchildren, Oliver "Dale" Mayhew (Kristen) Cook IV, and Weston and Caroline Cook.
Pallbearers will be family members. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Lebanon Health and Rehab.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lebanon Health and Rehab Center.
James Victor Miller
Graveside services for Mr. Miller will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Miller, 68, of Lebanon, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was a graduate of McClain School, Castle Heights Military Academy and David Lipscomb University. He retired from teaching history for 30 years at Lebanon High School. He was an authority on local history, Middle Tennessee Indian culture and Civil War battles. He organized the Lebanon Historical Museum at City Hall. He was member of the Friends of the Nashville Symphony, the Middle Cumberland Archaeological Society, the Wilson County Historical Society and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
He was preceded in death by parents, Victor and Katherine Flowers and grandparents, Elmer and Blanche Flowers. There are no survivors in his immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to one of the organizations of which he was a member.
