Martha Laine Bell

Services for Mrs. Bell will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Ligon * & Bobo Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Owens officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bell, 74, of Lebanon, died Sunday, April 5, 2008, at the Alive Hospice at St. Thomas in Nashville. She worked for many years at the Daisy Shop and was a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Laura Hastings Laine Sr.; her husband, Joel Edward Bell; a sister, Iva Dell McMinn; and two brothers, Ralph Laine and David Laine.

Survivors include: two children, Jim Stallings of Lebanon; Renee (Jerry) Valentino of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Tina (John) Manning and Joe (Joey) Denney; four great-grandchildren, Ryne, Tyler and Bailey Manning and Cole Denney, all of Lebanon; a brother, Frank Laine Jr. of Lebanon; and four sisters, Frances Vanhook, Dorothy Locke and Shirley Demateo, all of Lebanon, and Linda Yarbrough of Clarksville.
The family requests memorials be made to Alive Hospice.

Theodore Augustus "Bubba' Friedmann Jr.

Services for Mr. Friedmann will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at he chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until services Saturday.
Mr. Friedmann, 79, of Lebanon, died Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was a Korean War veteran. he retired from Ford Glass Plant in 2001 where he had worked for 43 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.a. Friedmann Sr. and Margaret Parker Friedmann and stepmother Estelle Friedmann.

Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Patrick Friedmann of Lebanon; sons, Louis (Mary Jane) Friedmann of Hendersonville and Frank (Theresa) Friedmann of Goodlettsville; a daughter, Shan Friedmann Dyer of Nashville; two granddaughters, Heather Dyer of Atlanda, Ga. and Kathryn Friedmann of Hartsville, S.C.; a grandson, Patrick Friedmann of Nashville; and a stepsister, Christina Satterfield of Nashville.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 105 Westpark Drive, Suite 415, Brentwood, TN 37027.

Harold Edward "Eddie" Griffin

Services for Mr. Griffin will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the Chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin with Bro. Leslie Chapman officiating. Visitation will be noon until services Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mr. Griffin, 60, of Old Hickory, died Saturday, April 5. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and later owned and operated Springfield Siding and Guttering.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Duane Griffin; a brother, Mark Griffin; and grandparents, Crate and Mary Ella Brown, Murphy Griffin and Nellie Griffin Lanier.
Survivors include: his wife of 37 years, Paulette Brake Griffin; a son, Chris (Tara) Griffin of Goodlettsville; a daughter, Tiffany (Heath) Nalley of Old Hickory; three grandchildren, Cody Griffin Nalley, Hunter Crate Griffin and Lauren Nicole Griffin; two brothers, Johnny (Janie) Griffin of Gallatin and Michael "Cotton" (Vicky) Griffin of Gallatin; three sisters, Mary Carter (Mike) Singleton of Lebanon, Julie Griffin of Gallatin, and Susie (Mark) Gentry of Gallatin; and stepmother, Margie Bruce Griffin of Gallatin.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Jackson, Nathan Townsend, Kenny Townsend, Tony Manis, Jeremy Manis, Jeremy Jackson, Bryson Whiteaker and Joe Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalen Smith, Shane Givens, Howard Brown, Mark Brown, Mike "Cotton" Griffin and Mike Singleton.

Rose Roberta Johnson

Services for Mrs. Johnson will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home with Bro. Kirk Brothers, Bro. David Shannon and Bro. Tom Boyette officiating. Interment will be in Conatser Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday.

Mrs. Johnson, 79, of Nashville, died Friday, April 4, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Virginia Mosley and a sister, Mattie Fuller.

Survivors include her husband, Bro. W. K. "Pete" Johnson Sr.; daughters, Sandra Johnson and Donna (Jerry) Wright; a son, Ken (Mary) Johnson; grandsons, Daniel Etheridge, Chad Etheridge and Ryan Johnson; a granddaughter, Sarah Johnson; a brother, Roy Mosley; a sister, Helen Marie Mosley; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of Pennington Bend, Lebanon Road and Greenhills Churches of Christ.

Walter R. Murphy

Services for Mr. Murphy will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. interment will be in Caraway Cemetery in Gladeville. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Murphy, 84, of the Vesta Community, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at his residence. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Vesta Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Lizzie McPeak Murphy and his brothers, Luster, Clyde and Dan Murphy.

Survivors include: his wife, Edith Erlene Murphy; a nephew, Robert Murphy of Gladeville; a niece, Shirley Roberts of Lebanon; three stepchildren, Saundra Richey of Franklin, Carolyn Harvey of Memphis and Don Conlee of Smyrna; and several other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Martin Giner, Troy Smith, Franklin Christian, Nealand Smith, Jeffrey Harris and Lade Conlee.

Claire Eloise Merkel White

Services for Mrs. White will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Denny Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. White, 85, of Lebanon and formerly of Donelson, died Saturday, April 5, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church Donelson and worked for many years for Urology Associates.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Chet White; her parents, Clarence H. and M. Myrtle Merkel; and a daughter-in-law, Connie L. White.

Survivors include: a daughter, Karen White (John III) Crowder; a son, Richard A. White; a brother, Clarence H. (Thelma) Merkel; grandchildren, John E. (Bonnie) Crowder IV, Stacey M. Crowder, Tammy W. (Kevin) Gober, Kimberly A. Higginson, Richard A. (Ashley) White Jr. and Kelli M. White; and 10 great-granchildren.
