Jack Leon Evans
Services for Mr. Evans will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Speight and Bro. August Ruff officiating. Interment will be in Caraway Cemetery in Gladeville. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Mr. Evans, 83, of Hermitage, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at Summit Medical Center. A former captain in the Marine Corps, he was a retired CPA and worked for the Internal Revenue Service. He was a founding member of the Lebanon Road Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by parents Martin Evans and Ida Mae Morgan Evans.
Survivors include: wife of 58 years Martha Robinson Evans of Hermitage; son David (Patricia) Evans of Hermitage; cousins Martha Lynn Porter and Joseph Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Darryl Robinson, Paul Swain, James Edwin Swain, Tommy Williams, Steven Todd, Stewart Todd, Steven Stinson, Ted Buselmeier, Joe Bomar and John Dickinson.
Norma Jean Harlan
Mrs. Harlan, 75, of Lebanon and Temperance Hall, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at Smith County Health Care in Carthage. A graduate of Gordonsville High School and Martin Methodist College, she worked as a legal secretary. She was preceded in death by parents James William Bunch, Jr. and Willie Bates Bunch; husband Eugene Harlan; and step-father Tommy Driver.
Survivors include: son Ken (Annette) Fountain, Jr. of Watertown; daughter Helen Leilani Fountain of Las Vegas; grandsons Kenneth Brian (Jennifer) Fountain and Aaron Wesley Fountain, both of Watertown; great-grandchildren Natalie Katherine Fountain and Brice Fountain; and sisters Helen Putty of New Palestine, Ind., and Beverly (Darrell) Hochins of Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Watertown Public Library, 208 Public Square, Watertown, TN 37184, or to a library of your choice.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
