Services for Mrs. Chrisitian will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria, Tenn., with Bro. Wayne Jamison and Bro. Ronnie Smith officiating. Interment will be in Hillview Memorial Cemetery in Alexandria. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, April 2, from 11 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Christian, 91, of Alexandria, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at NHC Healthcare of Smithville. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Monroe Christian; sons, Bernice M. Christian and Bobby Grady Christian; grandson, Bobby Junior Christian; parents, Lydia Margaret Williams and Robert Love Tubbs and brother, Denver Kyle.
Survivors include: daughters, Gradie Joyce Garvin of Alexandria and Helen Rozzell Rushing of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Kyle of Texas and sisters, Dollie Robinson and Donia Adkins, both of Georgia.
Theodore R. Lankford
Services for Mr. Lankford will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at Hellum Funeral Home with Bro. Isaac Winfree officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be noon until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lankford, 71, of Belleville, Mich. and formerly of Lebanon, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. He was born in Gainesboro, Tenn. He served in the US Air Force from 1956-1960 and was an Airman Second Class. He retired from the Veterans Administration with 25 years of service and received commendations for outstanding service as a police officer during the 25 years.
He was preceded in death by father, Bud Lankford; and brothers, Terry Brown and Jermon Lee Carter Sr.
Survivors include: mother, Maggie Winfree Brown; brother, Edward Brown; aunts, Gradie Eddings and Marie Winfree; sister-in-law, Thelma Carter; two nieces; four nephews; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Williams will be noon Friday, April 3 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Williams, 68, of Mt. Juliet, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009.
She was preceded in death by parents, George and Verna Arp; and sister, Carol Schnelle.
Survivors include: husband, Walter Williams; daughters, Sandra Nelson and Debbie (Don) Jackson; sons, Eddie, Billy and David (Sandra) Williams and George Arp III; sister, Betty Deleon; brother, George Arp, Jr.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; niece, Bobbie McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.
