JoAnn Lassiter Evans
Services for Mrs. Evans will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 at Gladeville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and 9 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Evans, 71, of Lebanon, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 at her residence. She and her husband sold vegetables at Nashville area churches as part of Food Fairs for over 25 years. She was a Sunday School teacher and member of Gladeville United Methodist. One of Mrs. Evans' requests was everyone to wear casual attire for her visitation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include: husband of 41 years, Raymond Evans; daughters, Julie (David) Walker and Katie (Hunter) Henson; sons, Ray (Linda) and Haskell (Tonya) Evans, all of Lebanon; grandchildren, Trey, Cody and Lexi Walker, Evan and Emma Kate Henson, Cory, Ethan, Wyatt and Christine Evans; sisters, Dora (Bud) Ferguson of Goodlettsville and Jean Spillers of Florida; and brothers, Bobby (Helene) and Tony (Carolyn) Lassiter.
Pallbearers will be Ray and Haskell Evans, David, Trey and Cody Walker, Hunter Henson, James Morgan, Mike Harris, Tommy Jones and Dr. Mike Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Christine Evans, Bob, Dorris and Bill Denny, Virginia Dawson, Donna Jones, Bill and Joyce Ann Hayes, Wayne Foster, Richard Cardwell, Gene Jones, John Gilliland, Clay and Billy Clayton Sanders, Roy Midgett and members of Mrs. Evans' Sunday School class.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the JoAnn Evans Memorial Benevolent Fundat Gladeville UMC or the Gladeville UMC Building Fund or to Southside Elementary School Library.
