Leona “Toni B” Burton
Funeral services for Mrs. Burton will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at Royal Palm Funeral Home in Florida. Interment will be in South Florida National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burton, 94, of Lake Worth, Fla. died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at the Hospice of Palm Beach facility at the JFK Hospital. She was born in Adelphia, Ohio. She graduated from high school in Lancaster, Ohio. She worked in various retail establishments as salesperson, buyer and manager. She also served as a hospital volunteer. She moved to Florida near the end of World War II where she met and married Sam P. Burton. After leaving Florida they lived in Mt. Juliet, Lewisburg, Lebanon, and Maryville, Tenn. The family returned to Florida in 1962 and lived in Ft. Lauderdale. For the past 31 years she and Sam lived in Lake Worth, Fla.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: husband of 65 years, Sam P. Burton; children, Diane (Stephen) Gershenson of Boca Raton, Fla., Linda (Fred) McKinney of Cleverdale, N.Y., Robert (Patricia) Burton of Martinsville, Ind. and Deborah (Joel) Sokol of Delray Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Marjorie Posada, Ashley and Anna Burton and Stephanie and Erika Sokol; and great-grandchildren, Cameron and Madeline Posada and Quinn Sokol.
Russell P. Jaruczyk
Services for Mr. Jaruczyk will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor John Hunn officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Jaruczyk, 72, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at his home. Born in Encarnacion, Paraguay, he was the son of the late Julian and Eva Piatachuk Jaruczyk. He was a retired carpenter, minister, and founder of New Life Ukraine Children’s Ministries. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Odessa Theological Seminary, Kyiv, Ukraine, and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Jaruczyk; sister, Leonida Blazechuk; and brother, Joseph Jaruczyk.
Survivors include: his wife of nearly 44 years, Nina Leonovich Jaruczyk; children, Julie (Eric) Saunders of Brownsburg, Ind., Lillian (Kirk) Guillot of Mt. Juliet, John (Susana) Jaruczyk of Snellville, Ga. and Andre Jaruczyk of Lebanon; sisters, Tanya Wasyluk of Encarnacion, Paraguay, Elsa (Ivan) Gnatenco and Ninfa (Elio) Garcia all of West Palm Beach, Fla.; brother, Rev. Anatolio (Luba) Jaruczyk of Clark, N.J.; and grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Saunders, Ethan and Corben Guillot, Tamara, Nicholas and Samuel Jaruczyk.
Pallbearers will be Eric Saunders, John Jaruczyk, Kirk Guillot, Walter Jaruczyk, Rick Jaruczyk and John Horstmeyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Talmadge Kelley and Clyde Ricketts.
Ella Lea Knowles
Services for Mrs. Knowles will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Newman and Bro. August Ruff officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Knowles, 88, of Lebanon passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at the home of her sister in Brentwood. Born in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late Jessie Herbert and Elizabeth Frances Williams Lea. She was a member of the Green Hill Church of Christ and worked at Texas Boot for 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude William Knowles; son, Clayton Knowles; brother, Riley Lea; and sister, Agnes Marie Lea.
Survivors include: grandchildren, Sharon Annette Drye of Murfreesboro, Perry Allen Knowles of Lebanon and Melanie Ann Alexander of Smyrna; daughter-in-law, Peggy Knowles of Mt. Juliet; sisters, Ola Mai Hackney of Lebanon, Pauline Keith of Brentwood and Mary Baines of Lebanon; brothers, William Lea of Murfreesboro, Raymond Lea of Lebanon and Melvin Lea of Watertown; five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Lea, Robert and Jeff Baines, Mitch, Tony, Carl and Homer Ray Lea, Kenneth Bates and Kevin Drye. Honorary pallbearers will be Mable Hall, Robert Adkins, Houston Stanton, Robert Evans, Ricky Hight, Tommy Lea, Jerry Smith, Ray Williams, Katherine Knowles, Mary Edwards and Donna Hackney.
Richard Wilbur Sickler Jr.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Sullivan officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
Mr. Sickler, 61, of Hartsville, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by father, Richard W. Sickler Sr.; grandparents, Kenneth and Verna Sickler; sister, Jackie Benson.
Survivors include: wife, Jo Dean Sickler of Hartsville; sons, Brian Sickler of Lebanon and Bradley (Donna) Sickler of Alexandria; grandchildren, Autumn, Kenny, Kaitlynn, Zachrey and Jourdan Sickler; mother, Ester Louise Sickler of Corry, Pa.; sisters, Phyllis Sickler and JoAnn Sickler, both of Corry, Pa.; friends, Robin and Patches Conley.
