Weston Andrew Cole
Services for Mr. Cole will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at Tulip Grove Baptist Church with Drs. Alec Cort and Gerald Bontrager officiating. Interment will be in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hermitage Funeral Home and 9 a.m. until the service Friday at the church.
Mr. Cole, 18, of Mt. Juliet, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Robert Russell Herndon.
Survivors include: parents, Todd and Carol Cole; brother, Mitchell Cole; grandparents, Buddy and Faye Cole and Betty Jean Herndon; uncle, Bobby Herndon; aunt, Jennifer Cole; aunts and uncles, Lynn and Richard West, Mary and Joe Pugh, Martha and Greg Riggs, Mark and Sandi Herndon and Tim and Tracey Cole; and several cousins.
Pallbearers will be Josh Shamblin, Barry Fullington, Brent Byrd, Jeremy Anderson, Mike Davison, Don Smith, Trevor Morris and Chip Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Class of 2010 and Tulip Grove Baptist Church Class of 2010.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weston Cole Youth Mission Fund at Tulip Grove Baptist Church.
Charles Edward Hurst
Memorial services for Mr. Hurst will be 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at Sellars Funeral Home with Bro. Gordon Lee officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hurst, 63, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010.
He was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Eula Blanche Haskell; and brother, Gene Hurst.
Survivors include: wife of 35 years, Mary Jones Hurst; children: Brandon (Lisa) Hurst, Heather (Darren) Nouosel and Jeff Hurst; brothers: R.H. (Ima) Hurst, Jim (Betty) Hurst, Bobby (Bonnie) Hurst, David (Shirley) Hurst, Donnie (Suzanne) Hurst, and L.C. (Marilyn) Hurst; sister, Janice (Rick) Smelcer; grandchildren, Charles Brandon Hurst, Alexandra Reeve and Makyla Reeve; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara Ann Mecher
Memorial services for Mrs. Mecher will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at Sellars Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Sellars officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service on Saturday.
Mrs. Mecher, 59, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010.
She was preceded in death by husband, Michael Mecher; son, Michael Mecher Jr.; parents, Damon and Dorothy Maire McPherson; and brother, Robert McPherson.
Survivors include: daughters, Lori (James) Thomason and Michelle Mecher; two brothers: Jim (Laura) McPherson and Lyle (Anette) McPherson; sister: Betty (Tim) Harahan; and grandchildren, Angel Torres, Alexandra Thomason and Michael Barrett.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert “Bob” Becht.
Mary Louise Alexander Morton
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Morton will be noon Friday, Aug. 20 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home in Spring Hill, Tenn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Morton, formerly of Spring Hill and Columbia, passed away at Elmcroft Memory Care in Lebanon. She was the daughter of Allidee and George Alexander of Nashville. She was a life-long member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church and most recently a member of the Ballinger SS Class at Hermitage Methodist. She was an avid bridge player in Spring Hill and Columbia before her move to Hermitage in 1995 where until recent years, she played at the Donelson Senior Citizens. She was a former member of the D.A.R., the U.D.C., the A.P.T.A, the Ladies Hermitage Association, and a life-time member of the James K. Polk Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lola Morgan and Peggy Morris; and husband of 65 years, Jess Morton Jr.
Survivors include: daughters, Georganne Heithcock (Tony) Taylor of Nashville and Nancy (Richard) Cleveland of Lebanon; grandchildren, David Heithcock of Columbia, Tim (Jan) Cleveland and Gwen (Jim) Schaetz of Lebanon; great-grandchildren, Matt Heithcock, August, Mary, Morgan, Elijah Schaetz and Anna Leigh, Allison and Sarah Cleveland; great-great-grandchild, Madison Heithcock; nieces, Susie Morton Helm, Megara Morgan; and nephew, Marshall (Susan) Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Tony Taylor, Richard and Tim Cleveland, Jim and August Schaetz and special friend, Bobby Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ayers Whitney SS class of First Methodist, Columbia, the Ballinger SS class of Hermitage United Methodist and the staff at Elmcroft Memory Care.
