At Mr. Calhoun's request, his remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Calhoun, 92, of Mt. Juliet, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010. He was a member of UAW #685 and a retiree of Chrysler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jane Glentzer Calhoun; parents, Arlie and Dora Mae Reed Calhoun,
Survivors include: sons, Terry (Debbie) Calhoun of Geneva, Ind., James (Donna) Calhoun of Greentown, Ind. and Thomas (Shirley) Calhoun of Clearwater, Fla.; daughters, Jane Mundy of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. and Wanda Prickett of LaFontaine, Ind.; sisters, Georgia Bowman and Lola Mae (Robert) Miller; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Bond Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Services for Miss Kirby will be 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Tuckers Cross Roads. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1-8 p.m., and after 11 a.m. Monday at Ligon & Bobo.
Miss Kirby, 58, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at her home. She was a 1970 graduate of Lebanon High School and member of the Maple Hill Church of Christ. She worked at Toshiba for many years.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Richard, and Jack Kirby; parents, Ray Doc and Inez Ragland Kirby.
Survivors include: two brothers, Tony (Kim) Kirby of Castalian Springs and Bill (Mary Ann) Kirby of Portland; several nieces and nephews.
Russell, Randy and Ken Kirby, Joe Gardner, Mike Jones and Ken Davis will serve as pallbearers.
