Evelyn Gotcher Babb
A memorial service for Mrs. Babb will be 6:30 p.m on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel as the Rev. Ann Hatcher and Norval Richardson officiate. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time.
Mrs. Babb, 79, of Lebanon passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at Lebanon Health & Rehab Center.
Born in Fayette, TN, Mrs. Babb received her Masters degree in Education from Middle Tennessee Sate University, was a long time educator at Lebanon High School and a member of First Untied Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by parents, William and Lora Gotcher; husband, Jim Babb; brother, Bill Gotcher; sisters, Mildred Askew, Elizabeth Buntin, Gene Webb, Elma 'Mutt' Clark.
Survivors include: daughters, Janice Babb, Kathy (Eddie) Boyd, Rebecca (Tim) Edwards, Jamie (Alan) Ricketts; brother, Dr. Robert E. Lee Gotcher; grandchildren, Matthew DickensAllie and Cale Ricketts, Merilyn (Daniel) Edwards-Ater; great-grandchildren, Ryker and Rafe Ater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Lebanon Health & Rehab Center and Dr. Robert Jantz and staff.
Bobby “Bob” Malone Bragg
A chapel service for Mr. Bragg will be 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 9 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Gray officiating. Interment will be in Bryan Family Cemetery in Wilson County. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bragg, 74, of Wartrace, passed away on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at his home. He was a native and life-long resident of Rutherford County and a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Wartrace. He was retired Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bragg and Louise Redman Bragg; son, James Insel Bragg; and sister, Frankie White Todd.
Survivors include: sons, David (Brenda) Bragg of Wartrace, Bobby (Glynis) Bragg Jr. of Murfreesboro and Kevin (Rita West) Bragg of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Misty, April, Jason, Dawson, Ethan and Logan; and four great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers with Kyle Brown and Julia Brown serving as honorary pallbearers.
Betty Jo Brewer
Services for Mrs. Brewer will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Mike Reid officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brewer, 73, of Lafayette, passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010.
She was preceded in death by parents, Houston Jessie and Clemmie Holleman; brothers, David Holleman and Danny Holleman; sister, Mary Kate Tiggs.
Survivors include: husband, Tommy Brewer; son, Tim (Carrie) Brown; daughters, Sherrie Curtis, Rhonda (John) Fulk and Christy (James) Ham; brothers, Jessie Roland Holleman and Billy Holleman; sister, Joyce (Emmett) Carter; granddaughters, Jessica Stewart and Kim Hawkins; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Scott, Woody Hartley, Larry Raymer, Matthew Raymer, Justin Curtis, Tim Brown and Chad Curtis.
Mary Jane Murphy Nave
Mrs. Nave, 81, of Sevierville, TN passed away on Thursday, July 29.
She was a licensed funeral director and she and her late husband were owners of Nave Funeral Home in Lebanon for over 50 years. Since retiring, she has made her home on the family's Century Farm in Sevierville. She was a lifelong member of Murphy's Chapel Methodist Church and a member of the First Families of Tennessee.
A noted historian, she was a member of the Magna Charter, Tennessee Society of Colonial Dames, where she served as State Chairman of Heraldry and Coats of Arms, the Spencer Clack DAR, Daughters of 1812, Daughters of Confederate Veterans and Daughters of Union Veterans.
An avid doll collector, she was a charter member of the Cedars of Lebanon Doll Club and served as a Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary Jane was the daughter of the late William Miles Murphy and Winnie Fox Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell W. Nave; granddaughter, Polly Jane Hunter and daughters-in-law, Zaynelle Coles Nave and Nancy Elizabeth Nave.
Survivors include: children, Kathy Hunter and her husband Mike, Joe Nave, Nancy Owens and her husband Terry, Dr. Bill Nave and his wife, Lisa; gradndchildren, Michael and Jack Hunter, Joey Jane (Jay) Bradshaw, Jud (Bevin) Nave, Destry (Stephanie) Nave, Grant and Callie Owens, Natalee, Libby and Rex Nave, Polly's husband Barry Tatum; great-grandchildren, Will Hunter, Liza, Lucy and Fisher Bradshaw; sister, Helen (Bill) Allen; brother, Robert (Carrie) Murphy.
At Mrs. Nave's request, a memorial service was held by her family at her home in Sevierville, TN.
