Donald Ray Buchanan
Services for Mr. Buchanan will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Wednesday.
Mr. Buchanan, 72, of Lebanon, passed away Dec. 25, 2009. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Wilson County Beekeepers, Davidson County Master Gardeners and Lebanon Senior Citizens Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Henry Buchanan; son-in-law, William Fuller; grandson, Christopher Parker.
Survivors include: wife of 49 years, Ruth Ellen Brim Buchanan; children, Cynthia (Mike) Sloan, Jeffrey (Mary Beth) Buchanan, Sheryl Buchanan and Donya (Jeff) Parker; brother, James (Peggy) Buchanan; sister, Joyce (John) Dunn; grandsons, Logan Buchanan, Matthew and Patrick Sloan and Matthew and Joshua Parker.
Pallbearers will be John Dunn, Mark Dunn, Mack Hollis, Phillip Lea, Jeff Parker and Mike Sloan.
Elbert Garland Hight
Services for Mr. Hight will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Bell, Rev. Carl Price, Rev. Billy Trice and Rev. Hunter Hay officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, Dec. 28, from 2-8 p.m. and prior to services Tuesday.
Mr. Hight, 85, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at University Medical Center in Lebanon. He was a graduate of Watertown High School, class of 1943. He was a lifetime member of Fall Creek Baptist Church and an inactive Deacon. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy in World War II and was a retired Maintenance Supervisor at Nashville Veteran Hospital for 39 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Hight and Rachel Taylor Hight; brothers, Hilton, Clarence and Earl Hight.
Survivors include: wife, Ella Jean Harris Hight of Lebanon; son, Paul (Dolores) Hight of Clinton; grandson, Brad Hight of Clinton; sister-in-law, Ruth Hight; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Hight, Philip Hight, Max Hight, Stevie Hight, Butch Hight, Charles Weaver, Curtis Dean Jennings and Robert Oldham.
Honorary pallbearers will be the active and inactive Deacons of Fall Creek Baptist Church and Sunday School Class IV, Engineering Division of VA Hospital, John and Meg Buchanan, Bill and Ann Thornhill, Randall and Karen Hall, Monty and Beverly Granstaff, Michelle Lasater and Dr. Wayne Wells and staff.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church Special Projects Fund.
Cory E. Mahan
Services for Mr. Mahan will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, in the Partlow Chapel with Dr. Roger Perry and Dr. Tom Binford officiating. Interment will be in Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 27, from 3-5 p.m.
Mr. Mahan, 85, passed away Dec. 24, 2009, in the Lebanon Health & Rehab Center. He was a World War II Veteran, a member of Westland United Methodist Church and a retired employee of 38 years with Texas Eastern.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Watkins Mahan; sons, Walter Dale Mahan and Gregory John Mahan.
Survivors include: wife of 59 years, Waneta Krieg Mahan; daughters, Christine (Richard) Bedwell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Teresa (Bob) Harrison of Lebanon, Melody (Steven) Seida of Wylie, Texas, and Holly (Michael) LaBroski of Smithville; brothers, Walter "Butch" (Helen) Mahan and Carroll (Louise) Mahan; sisters, Virginia Barres and Blanche (Dick) Knipe; grandchildren, Richard Bredwell, Crystal (Mike) Leiberman, Logan (Dianna) Harrison, Michael LaBroski, Rachael Seida, Michelle Seida, Joel Seida, Anna Seida and Nathan Seida; great-grandchildren, Julia and Gabrielle Leiberman and Haden Harrison.

Gela Everett Ramsey
Services for Mrs. Ramsey will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Allen Black officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec, 27, from 1-5 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Ramsey, 90, of Mt. Juliet, passed away Dec. 26, 2009. She was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. She was a retired Metro. teacher and was formerly active with the Mt. Juliet Library.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burkett F. and Mai Curd Everett; husband, Carlos P. Ramsey; half-sister, Mary Hurt.
Survivors include: son, Thomas F. (Anne W.) Ramsey; granddaughter, Emily F. Ramsey.
Active pallbearers will be Luther Lenning, Frank Henderson, George Goodall and Clarence Curd Hurt. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Danner and N.C. Hibbett, Jr.

Evelyn Robinson Swain
Services for Mrs. Swain will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Speight and Bro. Jason Swain officiating. Interment will be in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 27, from 1-8 p.m. and Monday after 9 a.m.
Mrs. Swain, 87, of Gladeville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at her residence. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School and a member of the Gladeville Church of Christ. She retired from Mid-Cumberland Regional Transport Service and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Wilson Robinson and Belle Drennon Robinson; husband, Robert Milton Swain; sister, Edna Mae Todd; brother, Sam Sherrill Robinson.
Survivors include: daughter, Marilyn (Tommy) Williams of Gladeville; grandsons, Rob (Melanie) Williams of Gladeville and Kent Williams of Nashville; great-grandsons, R.T. and Hunter Williams of Gladeville; sisters, Mary W. Swain of Gladeville, Martha Evans of Lebanon and Raye Overton of Nashville.

Rev. Alvis G. Thurman
Services for Rev. Thurman will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29 at St. John Baptist Church. Interment will be in Hartsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until noon.
Rev. Thurman, 88, passed away Dec. 25, 2009, at Trousdale Medical Center.
Survivors include: wife, Nellie Thurman; sons, Alvin (Johnnie), Howard (Paulette), and Danny (Easter) Thurman; six grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
