Robert H. Brooks
Graveside services for Mr. Books will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Rutland Cemetery in Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 31, from noon to 1 p.m. at JC Hellum Funeral Home.
Mr. Brooks, 73, of Mt. Juliet, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Summit Medical Center. He served in the U.S. Army and retired after 32 years of service at Dupont.
He was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Dora Ann Brooks; sisters, Marie Hill and Gwendolyn Robertson; and brother, Walter Brooks.
Survivors include: wife of 51 years, Martha Thompson Brooks; sons, Gary (Michele) and Timothy (Melody) Brooks; daughters, Teresa Caruthers, Jacqueline (Kevin) Wilson and Sherry Brooks; grandchildren, Cornelius (Celeste), Corey, Brittany, Brandon, Kevin Jr., Timothy Jr., Alana, Kaylin and Andre; great-grandchildren, Yasmin and Amia; sister, Alberta (Harold) Ewin; brother-in-law, Donald (Linda) Abston; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Reynolds, Hattie F. Thompson, Odelia Bender, Bettye (James) Martin and Eva Brooks; aunt, Jessie Mai Majors; a host of nieces and nephews; long time friends, Bill Bryant and Ellis Clemmons; co-workers at DuPont; and family friend, Crystal Campbell.
Hellum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Porter Taylor
Services for Mr. Taylor will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at JC Hellum Funeral Home with Brother Charles Sharfner officiating. Interment will be in Rest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 2, from 10-11 a.m.
Mr. Taylor, 80, of Watertown, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at University Medical Center. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gracie Tippitt Taylor.
Survivors include: wife of 60 years, Mamie Louise Woods Taylor; son, Phillip (Cheryl) Taylor Jr. of Watertown; daughters, Linda (Shedrach) Seay of Lebanon and Cynthia (Phillip) Coleman of Rochester, Mich.; six grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
JC Hellum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
