Minnie Belle Bean
Services for Ms. Bean will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Hermitage Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Parnell officiating. Interment will be Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 4, from 9-10 a.m.
Ms. Bean, 74, of Hermitage, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Crutcher and mother, Wilma Parker.
Survivors include: daughter, Sherrie (Mark) Sturgis; son, Truman (Kimberly) Bean; grandchildren, Bryan and Caroline Bean; sisters, Charlene Overton and Clydell White.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Bean, Dusty Kirkham, Jimmy Overton, Paul Harris, Neal Harrell, Roy Young, Mark Dycus and Jody Inman. Honorary pallbearers will be Wallis Baird and Jim Bevans.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Donelson Church of Christ Youth Group or Crieve Hall Church of Christ Youth Group.
William Thomas Cartmell
Services for Mr. Cartmell will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Lakeside Church of Christ in Colorado Springs, Colo. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary in Fountain, Colo.
Mr. Cartmell passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010. He was born in Wilson County, Tennessee. He was the oldest of three children born to Willie Bell Cartmell and Anna Cluck Cartmell. He graduated from Wilson County High School in 1947, and upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was among the first wave of Black soldiers to integrate the Army and rise through the ranks from Private, First Class to become an Army Officer.
He retired from the Army in 1969 after serving 21 years, and began his career at Hewlett Packard Electronics Corporation. He also became served as President of the Helen Hunt Elementary School Parent Teachers Association, the Director of the Hillside Community Center, the Chairman of the Colorado Springs City Planning Commission and the Chairman of the Colorado Springs Alcohol Review Board. He was a active member of the Lakeside Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by wife of 39 years, Bettye Jean Belcher Cartmell; sister, Lula Pauline Harris.
Survivors include: sons, Ronald Thomas Cartmell of Hendersonville, Kenneth Thomas Cartmell of Washington, D.C., Michael Thomas Cartmell of Pueblo, Colo. and an “unofficially adopted son” Charles Matthew Duncan of Colorado Springs; sister, Helen Cartmell of Lebanon; sisters-in-law, Laura Ann Cason of Horn Springs, Tenn., and Nelda Ruth Childress of Dixmoor, Ill; grandsons, Isaiah Thomas Cartmell of Pueblo and Jordan Thomas Cartmell of Hendersonville; granddaughters, Kenzie Rae Cartmell and Charlotte Rose Castle, both of Pueblo; nephews and nieces, including Betty Ruth Cantrell of Lebanon; best friend, James Ray Miller of Colorado Springs; and a host of extended family members, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, the Cartmell family requests that donations be made to the Lakeside Church of Christ.
Garry Jackson Overstreet
Graveside services for Mr. Overstreet will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Elmwood, Tenn. with the Rev. Arden Schlesinger officiating.
Mr. Overstreet, 45, of Mt. Juliet, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010.
He was preceded in death by father, Claude Overstreet; and sister, Patricia Biggs.
Survivors include: mother, Betty Overstreet; sister, Lyn McClendon; brother, Allen (Georgeann) St. Charles; twin brother, Barry (Heather) Overstreet; and other family members and friends.

Sidney Roger “Sid” Propst Sr.
Services for Mr. Propst will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Bond Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Propst, 74, of Mt. Juliet, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was the son of the late Levi Lee and Ella Mae Simmons Propst. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Odell Propst and his sister, Gladys Holcomb.
Survivors include: sons, S. Roger (Robin) Propst Jr. of Mt. Juliet and L. Wayne Propst of Lewisburg, N.C.; brother, Zannie (Erna) Propst of Columbus, Ga.; sisters, Jeannie Propst of San Diego, Calif., Hazel Jones and Mary Shumate, both of Wilkesboro, N.C.; and grandchildren, Heather (David) Conklan and Pamela and Elizabeth Propst.

Chad Eric Slusher
Graveside services for Mr. Slusher will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Leeville Cemetery with Bro. David Shannon officiating.
Mr. Slusher, 37, of Hermitage, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010. He was a member of Hermitage Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Cleston Slusher, Sr. and grandparents, Woodson and Elizabeth Hatcher.
Survivors include: wife, Beth Yambor Slusher; daughters, Catrina, Baylee and Amber Elizabeth Slusher; mother, Barbara "Bobbi" Slusher; brothers, Cles Slusher and Corey (Michele) Slusher; sister, Cathy (Arel) Hayes; uncle, James Hatcher and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up at Hermitage Branch of Wilson Bank & Trust for each of Mr. Slusher's daughters. Donations may be made at any branch of Wilson Bank & Trust.

Raymond Kenneth Taylor
Services for Mr. Taylor will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Sellars Funeral Home with Dr. Ray Cleek and Bro. Don McElroy officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor, 88, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club, and a Chairman of Deacons at the First Baptist Church, where he also held the distinction of the longest membership.
He was preceded in death by parents, W.W. and Beatrice Ellis Taylor; sister, Maudine Taylor; daughter, Susan Taylor; brothers, Elber and Edward Taylor; and great-grandchild, Savannah Relford.
Survivors include: wife of 69 years, Ruth Buchanan Taylor; children, Cindy (Gary Mack) Foster and Tony (Laura) Taylor; brother, Paul "Buddy" (Alice) Taylor; grandchildren, Janet Curlin, Jill Schuster, Kimberly Taylor, Rosekay Arnold and Jacob Brown; great-grandchildren: Taylor Curlin, Cole Relford and Ayden Bentley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy Youngblood
Graveside services for Mr. Youngblood will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Milton Cemetery.
Mr. Youngblood, 61, of Watertown, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at University Medical Center. He was a native of Lawrence County, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by parents, Elmer Jacob and Fleetie A. Bearden Youngblood; brothers, Bobby and Leon Youngblood; and sisters, Mary Pusser and Christine Youngblood.
Survivors include: wife, Marion Goad Youngblood; son, Adam (Karla) Youngblood of Springfield, Tenn.; step-son, Mathew (Christin) McKenney of Carthage; daughters, June Peterson of Watertown and Rhonda Cramer of New York, N.Y.; brother, Milan Youngblood of Cardwell, Mo.; sister, Patsy (Charles) Flowers of Gleason, Tenn.; and 11 grandchildren.
