Marion Starr Bates
Services for Mrs. Bates will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon-8 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bates, 80, of Red Boiling Springs, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. She was born in the Temperance Hall Community to the late Johnny Howard and Velma Lorene Judkins Maynard.
She was preceded in death by husband, William Riley Bates; daughters, Barbara Heimbach and Vickie Lee; and grandson, James Lucas Moss.
Survivors include: children, Faye (Ralph) Beckwith of Donelson, Ronnie (Mary) Bates of Smithville, Donnie (Judy) Bates of Lancaster, Tenn., Jimmy (Dianne) Bates of Brush Creek, Judy Mallory of Nashville, Sherrie (Joe) Giles of Smithville, Jenny Bates (Paul Strack) of Red Boiling Springs, Gail (Jerry) Petty of Gordonsville, Tina Bates (John Swanson) of Gallatin, Barry (Bobbi) Bates of LaFayette, Molly Slager (Scott Taylor) of Chattanooga, Beth (Jerry) Martin of Hickman, L. Cpl. (USMC) Quinton (Kara) Bates of North Carolina; 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille (Frank) Smith of Lebanon and Marie Bennett of Mt. Juliet; and brother, Howard (Frances) Maynard of Lebanon.
Elaine Marie Pfingsten
Services for Mrs. Pfingsten will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Father Michael O’Bryan officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the service Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pfingsten, 34, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010. She was a General Manager and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Stephen Richnavsky, maternal grandmother, F. Evelyn MacLean and friend, Richard Thorne.
Survivors include: husband, Allen Pfingsten; parents, Jerry and Carol Richnavsky; daughter, Trista Marie Pfingsten; brother, Stephen Richnavsky; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Richnavsky; maternal grandfather, Don MacLean; mother- and father-in-law, Jan and Bill Pfingsten; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the trust fund for her daughter Trista Pfingsten at any Suntrust Bank.
Family and friends will serve as pallbeares. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anita Pippin and Jackie Arzate.
Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Sue Brent Palmer Sinclair-Riggan
Services for Mrs. Sinclair-Riggan will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Maple Hill Church of Christ. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Marshall Donnelly Combs in Nashville.
Mrs. Sinclair-Riggan passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Lollie Bell McClain Palmer and John Ready Palmer. She was born in her ancestral home “LongWood” on Hickory Ridge in Wilson County. She was educated in Wilson County and at Cumberland College. She was also a 50-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Married in 1948, she was the wife of the late Bruce Dennison Sinclair.
Survivors include: husband, Rufus Riggan; daughter, Susan Dennison Sinclair; granddaughter, Mary Susan Sinclair-Kuenning; son-in-law, Louis Ray Burns Jr.; sister-in-law, Jean Palmer Stinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends, Hazel Tidwell, Henry Farrar, Michelle Sims and Aliene Holland.
Pallbearers will be Howard, Chad and Brett Riggan, Ray Burns, Max Woody and Bob Palmer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Hill Church of Christ.
