Samuel Powell Murphy
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 13 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Knight and Dr. Bill Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Visitation will be 5-8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Murphy, 40, of Madisonville, Ky. passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Regional Medical Center. He was born in Smithville, Tenn. He was an OPI Certified Expert Nail Technician working with LaBelle Day Spa in Greenville, Ky., set to graduate in December from Daymar College in Owensboro, Ky. as a Massage Therapist and Bodywork Therapists. He was also actively working toward a business management degree from KCTCS.
Survivors include: his life-partner, Timothy Clark of Madisonville; mother and step-father, George and Jenny Herman of McMinnville, Tenn.; father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy of Watertown; one brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy Jr. of Woodbury, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sam (Vicky) Linnear of Auburntown, Tenn.; half-sisters, Lisa Taylor of Alexandria, Tenn. and Jolene Smith of Watertown; three nieces and four nephews.
Evelyn Byrn Paris
Services for Mrs. Paris will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Ellis officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and 9 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Paris, 93, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Northside Health Care in Murfreesboro. She was a retired bookkeeper for Rose 5 & 10 on the square and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband, Alton Leon Paris; parents, Houston and Hattie Taylor Byrn; brothers, James Brantley and Erby Gray Byrn; and sister, Doakie Hawkin.
Survivors include: sons, Ronald (Mary Neil) Paris of Murfreesboro, Leonard (Dineen) Paris of Tampa, Fla. and Brownie (Blackie) Paris of Lebanon; grandchildren, Mike Paris of Murfreesboro, Keith Paris of Trafalar, Ind., Todd Paris of Murfreesboro, Jennifer Albrecht of Franklin and Blake Paris of Lebanon; and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Paris' Sunday School class at Immanuel Baptist Church.
Danny Roy Smith
Services for Mr. Smith will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 12 at Upton Funeral Home in Celina, Tenn. with Bro. Daniel Stirnemann officiating. Interment will be in McDonald Cemetery in Celina. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until the service Sunday at Upton Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith, 34, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, George A. and Auda Abney and Milton T. “Tobe” and Effie Roach; and uncle, Billy Ray Smith.
Survivors include: parents, Eddie R. and Darlene Abney Smith of Lebanon; daughter, Tessa Reanne Smith; grandparents, Jim and Christine Smith; aunts, Juanita and Judy Smith; uncles, Richard and John Abney, Jammie, Wayne, Phillip, Thomas and Bobby Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Penny Killman.
