Jane E. Glassford
Services for Mrs. Glassford will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 10 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hermitage with Pastors Keith Enko and Ed Goehner officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Glassford, 71, of Mt. Juliet, died Saturday, July 4, 2009. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a former Girl Scout leader and square dancer. She prepared lunches for families in the ICU waiting room at Summit Medical Center and prepared meals and snacks for the Wilson and Davidson County Police and Fire Departments during holiday seasons.
She was preceded in death by parents, John Washington and Anna Grace Leister Ballman.
Survivors include: husband, Ray Glassford; daughters, Dianne (Rick) McNeese, Debbie (Michael) Freeman, Denise Smith, Dee (Jeff) Brockand Darlene (Anthony) Windsor; brothers, John (Bessie), Richard (Carol), Robert and David Ballman; sisters, Helen Campbell and Anna (Terry) Pollard; grandchildren, Ricky and Crystal McNeese, Tracy Mayhew, Raymond, Michael, Joseph and Katherine Freeman, Joshua and Parker Smoth, Chris and Logan Brock and Amanda and Aiden Windsor.; and great-grandchildren, Caley Cook, Jules and Bryce Mayhew and Taft Freeman.

Sgt. 1st Class Robert "Buddy" Howland
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 7 at New Hope Baptist Church in Hermitage. Graveside services with full military honors will be 12:30 p.m. EST Wednesday, July 8 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Sgt. 1st Class Howland, 51, of Hermitage, died Saturday, July 4, 2009. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division and was a recruiter for the TN Army National Guard for many years. He was a graduate of Non Commission Officer's School, Jungle Warfare School, Parachute School and Recruiting School at Ft. Benjamin Harrison. He graduated from Red Bank High School in 1976. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by sister, Pamela Howland Garrett and grandparents, Charles and Edna Howland and Rufus and Pansy Jarnagin.
Survivors include: children, Hayley Olivia, Chase and Chandler Howland; parents, Robert and Rosetta Howland; brother, David Howland; sister, Kathy Mundis; nieces, Kellie Siedel, Brooke Garrett and Jordyn Howland; and nephew, Joshua Howland.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to a trust fund for the Howland children that will be set up at a later date.
Bond Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Jean D. Oliver
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11 in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Oliver, 78, of Stuart, Fla., died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Lebanon. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by husband of 29 years, Melvin Oliver.
Survivors include: children, Sherry Muniz of Pompano Beach, Fla., Debbie Stallings of Stuart, Laura Johnson of High Springs, Fla., and Randy Oliver of Jupiter, Fla.; sisters, Nell Alsup of Lenore City, Tenn. and Joanne Trebble and Martha Oliver, both of Lebanon; brother, Ronnie Alsup of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Hermitage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
