Services for Mr. Carman will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 3, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home at Lebanon with Dr. Larry Locke officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-6 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Mr. Carman, 80, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Quality Care Nursing Home in Lebanon. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the College Hills Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. He founded Al's Foodland in 1968. He was a former president of the American Beefalo Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillard Thompson Carman and Maude Frances Armstrong Carman; brothers, George and Billy Carman.
Survivors include: wife of nearly 60 years, Dora Nunley Carman; children, Merilyn (Ken) Couch of Knoxville; Alfred N. (Pat) Carman, Jr. of Nashville, and Robin Lynn Edwards of Lebanon; brother, James (Joyce) Carman of Hartsville; eight grandchildren, Kelley (Greg) Sohn, Jennifer (Bryant) Powell, Kasey Couch, Jonathan (Lila) Carman, Jeffrey (Kellye) Carman, Kim (Zach) Watson, Kristen (Branson) Stevens and Merilyn (Daniel) Ater; eight great-grandchildren, Krystal Robbins, Lilly Carman, Mamie Carman, Hollis Watson, Bailee Powell, Montana Powell, Ryker Ater and Rafe Ater.
Bryant Powell, Greg Sohn, Daniel Ater, Jonathan Carman, Jeffrey Carmen and David Mayberry will serve as pallbearers.

Bobby E. Todd
Services for Mr. Todd will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon, with Carl Jones, Pastor John Hunn and Pastor Gordon Lee officiating. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 2, from 2-6 p.m. and after 11 a.m. on Monday at Ligon & Bobo.
Mr. Todd, 79, of Lebanon, passed away April 30, 2010 at his home. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and later served in the National Guard. He received his E.D.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University and taught at Castle Heights Military Academy from 1952-1977, and at Tennessee Preparatory School from 1977 until he retired in 1995. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Othello Todd and Virginia Bessinger Todd Meid; sister, Naomi Todd; brothers, Dr. Carl Todd, Maj. Leo Todd and Joe Frank Todd.
Survivors include: wife of nearly 45 years, Sabra Woodall Todd; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby E. and Jennifer Todd II; grandsons, Nathan Keaton Todd and Jadon Elias Todd, all of Murfreesboro; step-brothers, Ed and Charles Meid of Tampa, Fla.
Honorary pallbearers will be Col. George Suddarth, Col. Gene Hale, Leon Vantrease, John Greer, Charlie Bissinger, Bill Adams, Annette Spitzer, Katherine Fletcher, JoAnne Cotton, Joe Nave, Paul Barnard, Ken Head, Joe Atkisson, Betty Dickerson, John Bunnell, Gerald Williams, Paul Holsen, Orlando Segarra, Jerry Ream, Clay Wood, Mary Ann Bay, Claudia Burton and Betty Spitzer.
