Bettye Jean Ashe Dies
Services for Mrs. Dies will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Adams Avenue Church of Christ with Bros. Bob Knox, Bill Hayes and Jim Byrd officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and 2 p.m. until the service Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Dies, 71, of Lebanon, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 at her residence. Born in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Annie Gay Ashe. She was a member of Adams Avenue Church of Christ. She retired from Toshiba.
She was preceded in death by sister, Lucille Johnson; brothers, Jerry and James Ashe.
Survivors include: husband, Kirby Franklin Dies; children, Joyce Lee Lawrence of Lebanon, Charles L. Lawrence Jr. of Riddleton, Anthony R. Lawrence of Lebanon, Michelle (David) Chambers of Lebanon; step-children, Kirby W. Dies of Watertown, Kenneth P. Dies of Loving, N.M., Kimberly C. Dies of Hartsville, Christopher (Leatha) Dies of Hermitage; sisters, Jo Ann Mynatt and Linda Austin of Lebanon; brother, John Ashe of Lebanon; three grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandson, Houston Aranjo and Richard Minter, Gary Bush, James Moss, Larry Driver and Phillip Maynard. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Toshiba Girls.
Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Betty Maxine Jarvis
Mrs. Jarvis, 89, of Memphis and formerly of Watertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by children, Richard Jr., Jack and Judy Jarvis.
Survivors include: children, Johnny, Jerry, Mickey, Jesse, Jackie, Patrick and David Jarvis, Betty "Peaches" Wolverton, and Dixie Barbee; 23 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
