Lynn Joyce Gettler (Keil) Cruce

Services for Mrs. Cruce will be held at a later date in Flint, Mich.
Mrs. Cruce, 61, of Lebanon, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Centennial Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester C. and Patricia L. Gettler.

Survivors include daughter, Leslie Qualls of Lebanon; sons, Scott (Janie) Cruce of North Carolina, David (Kendra) Keil of Lebanon and Douglas (Tana) Keil of Lebanon; brother, Norman A. (Mary) Gettler of Gaines, Mich.; grandchildren, Andrew, Madison, Jordan, Adam, Logan, Jensen and Carter; nieces, Michelle and Lorri Lynne Gettler; nephews, Michael and Matthew Gettler; and several cousins and relatives.

Partlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Billy S. Howard, DDS

Services for Dr. Howard will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 20, in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wayne Miller and Bro. Joe Widick officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Dr. Howard, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Elmcroft of Lebanon. He attended Junior College at Castle Heights Military Academy, was an undergraduate at Middle Tennessee State University and received his degree in dentistry from the College of Dentistry in Memphis. He practiced dentistry in Lebanon for 43 years prior to retiring in 1994. An Army veteran, serving in WWII, he reported for active duty in 1943 and received his honorable discharge in 1946. He was a member of the Xi Psi Phi Dental Fraternity and the Tennessee Dental Association. He served as president of the Lebanon Lions Club, president of the Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, director of Peoples Bank and Sun Trust Bank, served on the Lebanon City Council and was a member of the Lebanon Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Maurice Stone Howard, DDS and Freda Henning Howard; his first wife, Joyce Shoffner Howard; second wife, Tish Eskew Howard and sister, Martha Howard Wilters.

Survivors include children, Dr. William Stone (Gail) Howard, DDS of Tellico Plains, Tenn., Kathryn Howard (Ron) McClesky of Lebanon and Christy Howard (Kenneth) Webb of Nashville; grandchildren, Richard J. (Jennifer) Howard of Chattanooga, Tyler (Janet) King of Nashville, Ryan King of Tuscon, Ariz., Kathryn Webb, Clayton Webb and William Webb, all of Nashville; brother, Jack Harris Howard of Lebanon; brother-in-law, Judge Harry Wilters of Foley, Ala.; nephews, Dr. John (Taryn) Wilters of Nashville and Judge Bob (Ame) Wilters of Foley, Ala.

Pallbearers will be Richard Howard, Tyler King, Ryan King, Clayton Webb, Ken Webb and Ron McClesky. Honorary pallbearers will be childhood friends of Dr. Howard, Miles Smith, Bill Barry and Hubert Clemons, employees and directors of Sun Trust Bank, residents and staff of Elmcroft.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
