Alma Frances Dyer
Services for Mrs. Dyer will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at Lawrence-Sorenson Funeral Home in Jackson, Tenn., with the Rev. Aubrey James officiating. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery. Visitation was from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Mrs. Dyer, 82, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Quality Care Nursing Home. She was born in Jackson, Tenn., and attended Pinson School and Chester County High School. Before retiring, she worked as a nurses' aide at Jackson-Madison County Hospital and performed private duty work. She was affiliated with the church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Flora Parrot Grissom, her children's father, Claude Elbert Dyer; brothers, Robert Grissom, James Grissom, and Kenneth Grissm; baby brother, Glenn Grissom; sister, Evelyn Jones and baby sister, Juanita Grissom.
Survivors include children, Brenda (Bedford) Kellow of Lebanon, Glenda Claudette (Danny) Adkins of Hendersonville, Tenn., Lorna Camille (Steve) Howell of Lebanon and Carl Michael Dyer of Jackson, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Lee Atkins, David Roberts, Ken Grissom, Steven Harris, Aaron Dyer and Jason Dyer. Honorary pallbearers include Bedford Kellow, Danny Atkins and Steve Howell.
Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
Henry Houston Hight
Services for Mr. Hight will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with Bro. Donnie Ashworth officiating. Interment will be at Williams Cemetery in Norene, Tenn. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4 and from 11 a.m. until the service time on Monday, Jan. 5.
Mr. Hight, 85, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in the University Medical Center. A member of the Methodist Church, he was a farmer and served in the Air Force as a Master Sergeant for 21 years, including serving in WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ella McPeak Hight; son, Charles Larry Hight; brothers, Lewis Hight and Jessie Hight; sister, Inez Ester Taylor.
Survivors include wife, Betty Hight; sons, Michael Hight Sr. and Joe H. Hight; sister, Ester James; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Teddy Doyle Taylor
Services for Mr. Taylor were at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at Sellars Funeral Home. Interment was in Commerce Cemetery in Watertown.
Mr. Taylor, 40, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his father, Miles Taylor and his mother, April George.
Survivors include son, Theodore Taylor; brothers, Eddie Taylor, Richard Taylor and Johnny Taylor; step-father, Kerry George; mother of child, Trina Roberts; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
