Mrs. Benham, 89, of Winchester, Mass., and Wolfeboro, N.H., passed away December 28, 2007, at the Wingate in Haverhill. She was born in Monson, Mass., and raised and educated in Reading, Mass. She worked for the Winchester School System for several years, and then for Raytheon. She also did some volunteer work for Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, N.H., in her later years. She enjoyed traveling and playing Bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter M. Benham. She is survived by three children, Walter M. (Joyce) Benham, Jr., of Andover, Mass.; Marsha E. (Ed) Fisher, of Dade City, Fla.; and Barbara A. (John) Hubeey, of Lebanon, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Chris Varney, of Stoneham, Mass.; Mark Varney, of Yardley, Pa.; and Alissa and Emily Benham, both of Andover, Mass.; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Tanner, Dylan and Riley Varney.

Services for Mrs. Hancock will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home, with Rev. Ernest "Toby" Blair and Rev. Robert Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Dickens Cemetery in the Maggart Community. Visitation with the family will be Monday, from 2-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Hancock, 93, of Lebanon, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Lebanon. One of ten children of the late Spencer and Ida Mae Claxton Harville, she was born on January 28, 1914, in Putnam County. On January 20, 1934, she married Solon Hancock, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1970, at the age of 57. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dillards Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by two children, James Odell Hancock and Linda Faye Hancock Mofield, and by nine siblings, Laura Overstreet, Ada Stacey, Eliza Grogan, Maude Dawes, Burton, Clavin, Oscar, William and Finley Harville.
She is survived by three children, Anna Ruth Dickens, of Lebanon; Verma Dean Dickens, of Difficult; Betty Jean (Johnny) Allison, of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Greg Dickens, of Difficult; and Tiffany Allison, of Lebanon.
June C. Scott
A memorial service for Mrs. Scott will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet. Visitation with the family will be from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9.
Mrs. Scott passed away January 5, 2008. She was a retired nurse from Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was preceded in death by beloved grandson, Scott Purkey.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Scott; sons, Kenneth (Sue) Scott, Henry Scott; daughters, Judy (Mike) Purkey, Micki (Ron) Eubanks, Mary (Steve) Thompson; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Jeannette Simmons
A memorial service for Ms. Simmons will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at 1 p.m. at JC Hellum Funeral Home in Lebanon, with the Rev. Cordell Haynie officiating. Her remains will be cremated.
Ms. Simmons, 56, passed away January 3, 2008, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Bloodworth, of Mt. Juliet; Gloria (Frankie) Banks, of LaVergne; Melissa (Robert) Rhodes, of Lebanon; and Joyce (Al) Rogan, of Gallatin; brother, Michael (Brenda) Seay, of Nashville; and other friends and relatives.
