Herbert M. Bates, Jr.
Services for Mr. Bates will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Jimmie Burroughs officiating. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Bates, 79, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., died May 26, 2007. He was retired from the Tennessee Highway Department after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Cavalry, a member of the VFW #1291 and the American Legion Post 88. He was preceded in death by parents, Herbert Meroney Bates, Sr. and Ella Mae Jordan Bates; and daughter, Sharon Bates.
Survivors include: wife, Betty Dacus Bates of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; son, Herbie (Tanya) Bates of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Janice (Gerry) Summar of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; brother, William J. Bates of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; grandchildren, Vanessa Bridge, Michael Summar, Kevin Summar, Andy Summar, Brie Bates and Kaylin Bates; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Dodson, George Himes, Ray Miller, Alan Pinson, Charles Kistner, R.C. Tidwell, Vernon Tidwell and Stan Workman. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Alive Hospice.
Charlotte Alean Hankens Garrett
Services for Mrs. Garrett will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Grooms and Bro. Glenn Pritchett officiating. Interment will be in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Garrett, 81, died Sunday, May 27, 2007. She worked at the Lebanon Garment Co. and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Highland Heights Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by parents, Henry Everett and Daisy Belcher Hankins; son, Jimmy Lawrence Garret; great-grandson, Weston Hunter Greer; sisters, Vera Vantrease and Ruby Johnson; brother, John Luther Hankins.
Survivors include: her husband of sixty-three years, Truman Lawrence Garrett; daughter, Charlotte Faye (Riley) Greer of Hartsville; four grandsons, Stephen (Tammy) Greer, Jason (Allison) Greer, Scott (Kendra) Garrett and Rodney Garrett; six great-grandsons, Ethan, Bryson, Mason, Dylan, and Mitchell Greer and Austin Garrett; two step-great-grandchildren, Kendall and Cameron Parker; devoted friends, Charlotte Holman and Nora Garrett.
Pallbearers will be Scott, Rodney and Austin Garrett, Terry Pritchett, Stephen, Jason, Austin, Ethan, Dylan, Mitchell and Bryson Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goforth died Sunday, May 27, 2007. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Sellars and Mt. Juliet Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.

Services for Mrs. Haynes will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Denton officiating. Interment will be in Bradleyâ€™s Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday and until the Service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Haynes, 87, died Saturday, May 26, 2007. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by husband, Jesse Haynes; daughter, Ruby Goolsby; parents, Harve and Nolie Smith Adams; brothers, Preston and Jesse Wilson Adams; sisters, Carmine Gorham and Zora Williams.
Survivors include: Daughters, Anne (Doyle) Jordan of Lebanon, Nancy Stroud of Lebanon, Patsy Barrett of Auburntown and Shirley Reed of Auburntown; sons, Bro. James (Becky) Haynes of Cookeville and Melvin (Doreta) Haynes of Lebanon; sisters, Grace (Pete) Hackney of Donelson and Christine Fox of Lebanon; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers, and great-grandsons and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Estin Clarence â€œE.C.â€ Rone
Services for Mr. Rone will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Rone died Friday, May 25, 2007. He was preceded in death by parents, Maris Whitney and Bessie Mai Hilliard Rone; daughter, Norma Faye Rone Coop; sister, Molly Ruth Rone Freeman; brother, Chester Rone.
Survivors include: wife, Gracie A. Robertson Rone; son, Eddie (Becky) Rone; daughter, Joyce (Ed) Bland; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alive Hospice.
Alleen Baird Smith
Services for Mrs. Smith will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Delashmit and Rev. Kevin Medlin officiating. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Tuesday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Smith, 90, died Friday, May 25, 2007. Mrs. Smith, a long-time resident of Lebanon, later moved to Jacksonville, Fla. She was a retired florist and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Laurence Smith.
Survivors include: daughter Laurene (Don) Arthur of Jacksonville, Fla.; four step-grandsons, Steve (Jackie) Arthur of Brentwood, Bill (Kathy) Arthur, Jon (Debbie) Arthur all of Jacksonville, Fla., Michael (Wendi) Arthur of Oviedo, Fla.; five step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Vision Fundâ€“A Time to Build, at the Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
