Joseph Carter "Joe" Johnston

Services for Mr. Johnston will be Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with the Revs. Gordon Lee and Scott Turner officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. until the service Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnston, 88, of Lebanon, died Friday, May 2, 2008 at St. Thomas Hospital. He was a member of Church of God Worship Center, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a professional trainer of American Saddlebred horses. He was a past member of Lebanon Rotary Club, American Legion and the United Professional Horseman's Association.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Sadie Gilbert and Lois Speck; and brothers, Rev. Otis, Taft and Hoyal Johnston. Survivors include: wife of 34 years, Sarah Frances Clemons Johnston; children, Chad Jones of Lebanon, Jody (Rebecca) Johnston of Johnson City, Casey (Angie) Johnston of Lebanon and Amy (Blake) Bass of Lebanon; grandchildren, Caitie and Will Jones, Kasey Johnston, Emma Kate and Carter Bass; sisters, Beady Johnston of Lebanon and Brenda White of Brush Creek; and mother-in-law, Jean Clemons of Lebanon.
Pallbearers will be Chad Jones, Jody and Caesy Johnston, Blake Bass, Randy Massey, Otis Johnston Jr. and Joel and Robert Speck.

Sherry Charlene Taylor

Services for Mrs. Taylor will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 5 at Sellars Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor, 55, of Lebanon, died Thursday, May 1, 2008.

She was preceded in death by father, Raymond Eugene Collier and son, Anthony Taylor. Survivors include: children, Larry Gribbins, Robert W. Taylor Jr., Shana (Kent) Ingle, Roy Anthony Taylor Jr. and Josh Allen Taylor Jr.; mother, Charlene Ward; brother, Jeffery Dale Collier; sister, Linda Rhea Champion; and grandchildren, John Andrew Elrod Jr., Bryce Lewis Elrod, Adam and Austin Ray Ingle, and Brandon Wayne Taylor.

Dewey Hatton White

Services for Mr. White will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home with Bro. David Freeman officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Brush Creek Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. until service time.

Mr. White, 77, of Brush Creek, Tenn., died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at University Medical Center. Born Nov. 7, 1930, in Grant, Tenn., he was the son of the late Annie Lee Craig and Charlie Burley White. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 8, 1951, to Nov. 5, 1954. Mr. White was a parts manager in the automotive industry and a member of Andrew Price United Methodist Church in Donelson.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene and brother, Harry.

Survivors include: wife of 51 years, Brenda Johnston White; son, Dewey Lamont (MIchelle) White of Lebanon; daughters, Dana Lynette (Charles) Frazier, of Woodbury, Tenn., and Crystal Nicole (Kenneth) Cowles, of Hickman, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jacob White, Tony Raymond, Shelly Hendrixson, Justin Skinner, Roy Frazier, Mary Cowles and Timothy Cowles; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon White, of Lebanon, Homer White, of Beaumont, Texas, and Paul White, of Alexandria, Tenn., and sisters, Linda Sue Hale, of Nashville, Frances Darnell, of Lebanon, Carlene Martin, of Smithville, Tenn., Carolyn Loveall, of Kentucky, Pauline Meyer, of Arizona, Ruth Ann McNulty, of Nevada, Beulah Perry, of California, and Joy Dix, of Castalian Springs, Tenn.
