Melvin "Mel" Frank Gasser

Services for Mr. Gasser will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8 at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Hillsdale Cemetery in Macon County. Visitation will 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Gasser, 68, of Lebanon, died Monday, May 5, 2008 at his residence. He graduated from Bellevue High School, attended Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee State Universities and was a life and health insurance broker for over 40 years. He was employed by Coroon and Black over 17 years and was president/owner of Inten Benefits Insurance.

He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Pauline Gasser. Survivors include: wife of 34 years, Hettie Gasser; daughters, Melynda and Dana Gasser of Lebanon; sisters, Carolyn Webb of Fairview and Linda (Joe) Bates of Clifton, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Todd Johnson, Jamie Ashburn, Wayne Byrne, Ronnie Gasser, Gary Waller and Tommy Mosier. Honorary pallbearers will be John Fox Jr. and Ray and Jim Swain.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ernest Kelley

Services for Mr. Kelley will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bob Hunt and Bro. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Kelley, 78, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at University Medical Center. he was the owner of Kelley Cab Company, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Rebecca Jane Dickerson Kelley; a sister, Margaret Thomas; brothers, L.J. Kelley and Herman Dickerson; and a grandchild, Bethany Kelley.

Survivors include: sons, Ernest "Tinker" (Jeanie) Kelley of Kentucky and William "Tony" (Jo) kelley of Lebanon; a daughter, Peggy (Jeff) McPeak of Lebanon; a sister, Gladys Gregory; grandchildren, Brandy McPeak, Nikki Patterson, Tiffany Tribe, Melany Moore, Missy Kelley, Dustin Taylor and Derrick Taylor; great-grandchildren, Landon Patterson, Kylie Patterson and Sadie Tribe; nephews, Mike and Ronnie Gregory; niece, Linda Thomas; and a sister-in-law, Betty Kelley.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

William J. "Bill" Thompson Sr.

Services for Mr. Thompson will be 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at Sellars at Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service.

Mr. Thompson, 57, died Sunday, May 4, 2008. In 1966, Mr. Thompson was ill and in a pioneering experiment, received the gift of life, a kidney transplant, from his mother's friend, Verda Walton. It is believed that Bill was the longest living recipient from a non-related donor. He was owner and partner in many successful business ventures including medical imaging equipment, racecar services and woodworking tools. He was a pilot and professional racecar driver.

He was preceded in death by parents, William R. and Mary Kay Thompson of Ellsberry, Mo. Survivors include: wife, Helen "Mickey" Thompson; daughter, Kimberly Thompson of St. Peters, Mo.; sons, William Jr. (Darlene) Thompson of Murfreesboro and James (Jenny) Thompson of Olathe, Kan. and their soon-to-be born baby; grandchildren, Samantha, Ainsley, and William Jacob Thompson; his first wife, Sharon McKeever of St. Peters, Mo.; brother, Thomas Thompson of Morton, Ill.; and three nephews.
