Charlie Barr

Graveside services for Mr. Barr will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 in Brush Creek Cemetery with family and friends officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon at Partlow Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Barr, 47, of Brush Creek, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at University Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by grandparents. Survivors include: wife, Debbie Barr; sons, Eric (Savannah) and Joshua Barr; grandson, Zackery Barr; parents, Don and Myrna Barr of Chilhowie, Vir.; brothers, Tim and Greg Barr; and sisters, Debbie and Amy.

Ethel Elizabeth Hammers

Services for Mrs. Hammers will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 at Hermitage Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment will be in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hammers, 95, of Mt. Juliet, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007.

She was preceded in death by parents, Claude and Nellie Ellis; and son, William Lloyd Hammers. Survivors include: husband of 76 years, Teddy Hammers; son, Roy E. (Carolyn) Hammers; daughters, Ruth (Norman) Dobson and Glenda (Donald) Oakley; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Allie Mae Hammers.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Jonas L. Stroud

Services for Mr. Stroud will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Mike Stroud and Mike Lish officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Stroud, 91, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at Riverview Regional Medical Center North. He was the son of the late Garland and Era Delay Stroud. He attended Watertown High School, was a member of Grace Bible Church and retired from Boeing as an aircraft mechanic.

He was preceded in death by parents; son, Jimmy Stroud; brothers, Malcolm, Harry and Carlyle Stroud; and sister, Cecil Marie Stroud. Survivors include: wife of 71 years, Carmine Midgett Stroud; children, Larry (Kelly) and Jerry (Judy) Stroud, both of Lebanon and Sue (Mike) Lish of Gladdice; sisters, Mary Nell Looney and Margaret (Clifton) Jordan of Nashville; sister-in-law, Iva Dell Stroud of Nashville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Stroud, Steven and Seth Lish, John Hendrick, Clark Cowley and Steve Barnes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Happy Haven Children’s Home, 2311 Wakefield Drive, Cookeville, 38501.
