Services for Mr. Hayes will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Dr. Ron Brown officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hayes, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007. He coached girls softball in Mt. Juliet for 19 years and has a softball field named after him at Mt. Juliet Little League Park.
He was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth Hayes. Survivors include: wife, Rena Hayes; son, Cary (Brenda) Hayes; daughter, Linda Samson; brother, Joe (Mary Lou) Hayes; uncle, Dalton (Jewel) Jones; grandchildren, Marie Samson, Katie and Megan Hayes; daughter, Lisa (Brian) Pugh; son-in-law, Joe Parker; grandchildren, Luke (Kristi) and Katie Parker, Brittney and Ben Pugh; and great-grandchildren, Josh and Garrett Parker and Noah Pugh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Building Fund.
Services for Miss Williams will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at Sanderson Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Denton officiating. Interment will be in Smith County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
Miss Williams, 18, of Rock City, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007 at Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was active in youth choir and AWANA.
She was preceded in death by grandfather, Walter Williams Sr. Survivors include: parents, Doyle Milton and Velina Marie Maxfield Williams; sister, Ashlee Williams; and grandparents, Veronica and Shirl Boles of Lebanon and Lola Williams of South Carthage.
