Ilene Beadle Tarpley
Services for Mrs. Tarpley, 91, will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, and prior to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tarpley, 91, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at her residence in Lebanon. She was a member of Watertown First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by husbands, Lee A. Patton and Claud Tarpley; parents Lorenzo and Alice Enouch Beadle; seven brothers and one sister. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Randy and Roger Beadle, Chris and Keith Beadle, Brent Beadle and Jerry Dunham. The Fidelis Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
George Pierce Berry Jr.
Services for Mr. Berry will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home and noon until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Berry, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, and played minor league baseball in the Detroit Tigers organization before joining the U.S. Navy. He is preceded in death by wife, Patricia Cruikshank Berry and parents, Pierce and Eula Belle Bullock Berry Sr.
Survivors include: daughters Cathy Cobb (Cliff Sr.) Carey of Lebanon, Carol (Russell) Brown of Colonial Beach, Va., and Cynthia (Danny) Brian of Knoxville; son, Al (Regina) Cobb of Pascagoula, Miss.; grandchildren Kimberly (Adam) Tune, Cliff (Marci) Carey, Jr., Natalie Griffin, Allen Cobb, and Joshua, Aaron, Sarah, Nathan and Jeremiah Brown; and great-grandchildren Brooks Tune, Isabella Tune and Jaiden Griffin.
Services for Mr. Blackburn will be 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Sellars Funeral Home with Bro. George Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Blackburn, 75, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007. He is preceded in death by parents, J.R. Blackburn and Louise Griffin Blackburn; brothers Royce Blackburn and James Jones; sisters Joyce Lawson Blackburn and Brinda Blackburn; and daughter-in-law Patty McMillon Blackburn.
Survivors include: wife of 55 years, Betty Joyce Hulse Blackburn; brothers, Larry Blackburn of Lebanon and Buddy Jones of California; sisters Alberta Blackburn Schuler and Paula Jones, both of Michigan; children Charles Kenny (Debbie) Blackburn, Stephen Joe (Joan) Blackburn, Lydia Lynn (Walt) Cousin and Betty Brummett; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Judy Van Hook
Services for Mrs. Van Hook will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo, Texas with the Rev. Casey Dubose officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Van Hook, 60, of Louise, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007.
She was preceded in death by parents, C.S and Louise Grandstaff Winfree. Survivors include: husband, the Rev. Larry Van Hook; daughter, Autumn Lee Van Hook of California; sons, Larry (Tina Van Hook of Kansas and Marshall Grant (Sarah) Van Hook of Victoria, Texas; six grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Rose) and Joe (Glenda) Winfree, both of Tennessee; and sisters, Geraldine (Dave) Macon of Tennessee, Jean (Jim) Gann of Florida and Jan (Jery) Hall of Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Jim and Joe Winfree, Jim Gann, Jerry Hall and Matthew and Marshall Van Hook.
Rebecca Anne Grime Jennings
Services for Mrs. Jennings will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Owens, W.D. Thomason, W.L. Baker will be officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 17, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jennings, 74, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007. She was born Oct. 5, 1932, to the late Joseph Hall and Alline Bass Grime. She married the late Eugene Joe Jennings in 1951. Mrs. Jennings was a graduate of Lebanon High School and attended Cumberland University. She retired as vice-president from First Tennessee Bank (formerly Lebanon Bank) after 43 years, and was office manager of Jennings Motor Company for two years. As a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church for many years, she served as Sunday school teacher, Sunday night prayer group leader, homebound ministry worker and a member of the choir and ladies trio. She was employed as Immanuel Baptist Churchâ€™s financial secretary for 10 years.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca â€œBeckyâ€ Elizabeth Jennings Winfree and sister, Sarah Grime Settle.
Survivors include: son, Joseph Flyn (Shawna) Jennings; son-in-law, Kenneth Winfree; grandchildren, Eric (Jenny) Winfree and Rebecca (Ray) Hubner; step-grandchildren, Avery Ferrell and Easton Ferrell, all of Lebanon; sisters, Lois Fitch, of Viola, Tenn., Margaret Cook, of Lafayette, Tenn., and Betty (Loyd T.) Nokes, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; brother, Dr. Harvey Hall (Patricia) Grime of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Joan (William) Philpot of Tompkinsville, Ky.; brothers-in-law, Doug Jennings, of Lebanon, John (Jerelyn) Jennings, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Frank (Hazel) Settle, of Gaston, S.C.
