Services for Mrs. Midgett will be Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville with Bro. Bill Robertson officiating. Interment will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the service Tuesday.
Mrs. Midgett, 90, of Smithville, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She attended Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Edna Loftis Jones; husband, Jess Midgett; children, Jack Midgett, Peggy Farris and Reed Midgett; brothers, Tom, Ben, Jessie “Casey,” Hooper, Cordell and Bethel Jones; and sisters, Jean Heady and Olerbell Bradshaw.
She is survived by grandchildren, Pam Farris of Cookeville, Allen (Robin) Midgett of Smithville, Teresa (Bruce) Dockery of Cookeville and Casey (LeVaughnda) Midgett of Smithville; brothers, Harvey (Margaret) Jones of Alabama and Billy (Margaret) Jones of Gallatin; sister, Essie “Dee” (Wilburn) Hensley of Cookeville; sister-in-law, Claudine Jones of Lebanon; son-in-law, Harvey Farris of Cookeville; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Debbie Sramcik and Mike Breeding.
