Funeral services for Mr. Granstaff will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Hunter Funeral Home with Brother Robert Amason and Brother Kenneth Bowen officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday prior to services. Interment with military honors will follow at Jones Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Granstaff, age 77, of Watertown, died Monday evening, July 21, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Sykes, he was the son of the late Clyde Lelon Granstaff and Ruby Lee Jones Granstaff. He was a graduate of Gordonsville High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. Paul and his family operated the Watertown CeeBee Grocery for several years, and he was a police officer for 26 years.
Paul is survived by his wife, Iva Roberts Granstaff; daughter, Tonya Blanks; son, Michael Granstaff, all of Watertown; grandchildren, Kiana and Shawn Blanks; step grandchildren, Tiphanie and Chelsie Poss; step great-granddaughter, Kylee; sister, Laverne Martin, and husband, Freddy, of Alexandria; nephew, Jason (Resa) Martin, of Murfreesboro; nieces, Trena Gassaway, of Dickson and Dana Christine Martin, of Alexandria.
Pallbearers will be James Ivy Wills, Tony Parsley, Jerry Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Jimmy Allmon, Jason Dodd, Ronnie Jackson and David Agee. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn and Ricky Oakley, Hank Dunklin, Howell Roberts, J.T. Webster, James Ray Moore, Gene Sykes, Bernie Ash, Tom Wiley and Jack Underhill.
