Last week was a busy week for the music industry in and around Nashville. Many of our friends from “The Glade” and Wilson County are involved in the business. Thousands of country music fans converged on Nashville from all over the world. There’s plenty to be excited about if you live in Lebanon and Wilson County.

I just had to write to someone about Lebanon’s Senior Center. After retiring as a nurse with the state of Tennessee for 20-plus years, I agreed to take a twice-weekly nurse’s position at the senior center. I was amazed at how many activities that are provided for these folks.

I’m old enough to remember when computers were small enough to fit into a large room. And both my parents, knowing my interest in computers, wanted me to learn something called “binary code.”

When it comes to the topic of mental health most seem to shy away from the conversation. It is no different here in Wilson County than anywhere else.

Whatever one might think of the way the United States uses its military might, there’s really no excuse for not honoring our nation’s veterans.

It’s “fly swatter season” in Wilson County. I have noticed that fly populations are trending upward. Warmer weather and rain showers help make for the perfect “fly breeding haven.” Flies are not just irritating but can cause production losses in cattle.
