My uncle used to say he’d never known a tired day, which was his way of saying he’d never felt exhausted. I’ve always found this hard to believe since I knew he worked extremely hard for much of his life. However, I think it was his attitude.

Peter speaks of the end of the world in 1 Peter 3:10-12. Twice in those three verses he uses the phrase, “the elements shall melt with fervent heat.” In the midst of all this destruction he asks a question, “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness?”

Senator Beavers and Rep. Pody are a disgrace and embarrassment to the county and to the state. This proposed legislation is comical at best. I have not decided if Sen. Beavers and legislator Pody are reincarnated from 1777, 1832 or 1861. I refer to the similarity between the Articles of Confederation, John C. Calhoun’s Theory of Nullification or the Civil War, or should I say the War Between the States.

Labels are funny. On one hand, they help keep us organized. They give our lives structure and order and help us identify certain things. On the other, they limit us in several ways. They have a way of overriding our senses and judgment and modifying our personalities.
