Are we a charity or a nonprofit? Is there a difference you ask? Charity is both a noun and a verb. For some reason I’ve never liked the term charity. I prefer to think of United Way as an investment resource. We help people invest in their communities, in their neighbors and in themselves.

There’s plenty to be excited about if you live in Lebanon and Wilson County.

I just had to write to someone about Lebanon’s Senior Center. After retiring as a nurse with the state of Tennessee for 20-plus years, I agreed to take a twice-weekly nurse’s position at the senior center. I was amazed at how many activities that are provided for these folks.
