To the Editor:
The Wilson County Black History Committee and the Roy Bailey African American Museum and History Center gives special thanks to each individual, each business, each organization and each church in Wilson County and surrounding areas who gave us their generous support in 2013.
We are proud of the achievements we made in 2013 toward our goal of restoring historic Pickett Chapel and serving our community. The committee has been granted funds from the state of Tennessee, Wilson County, and the city of Lebanon totaling more than $40,000. Our goal is to complete this restoration project, which will benefit the entire community, and to continue to sponsor worthwhile events and historical, social and educational presentations for children, youth, adults and seniors.
As we begin the New Year, we look forward to continued collaboration with our supporters and friends.
Mary Harris, president
