Thumbs up to Mt. Juliet High School teacher Edward Johnson after 37 years of service to Wilson County schools and 50 years in education. The Wilson County Board of Education honored Johnson with a plaque at its meeting Monday night.

Thumbs up to John Ross Bryan, son of John and Kim Bryan, who began his political career recently at Friendship Christian School in the second grade when he was elected mayor of Biz Town. Biz Town is a real-life fully functioning mini city run entirely by students. Friendship students will learn how to apply for jobs, balance checkbooks and perform all the tasks of a regular employee.
Thumbs up to the Lebanon High School Humane Society Club for donating recently about $500 worth of bought and donated items to New Leash on Life shelter in Lebanon.
