To the Editor:

It is with great pleasure that I endorse Clark Boyd for state Senate in the 17th District.

Clark is a true conservative who is very intelligent, approachable and responsive to people’s needs. He has a pleasant and friendly nature arising from his strong Christian faith. I have seen Clark in action and he is someone who makes me very proud.

As chairman of the Wilson County Republican Party, Clark brought a never-before-seen unity to our party, the result being growth, financial stability and a welcoming atmosphere that created flourishing friendships among members.

Among other things, Clark is a veteran. This alone speaks volumes about his ability to lead. He is also a small business owner who knows what it’s like to make a payroll and balance a budget.

I am also very excited about Clark because of his background and degree in education. This is definitely a skill set that is very much needed in the General Assembly.

Clark will be a refreshing new start and provide the representation that the entire 17th District deserves.

For this reason, I strongly encourage you to cast your vote for Clark Boyd in the Republican primary Aug. 7. I know we will be proud to call Clark Boyd our state senator.

Rep. Susan Lynn

Mt. Juliet

Very Disappointing that Susan Lynn continues her vendetta against Senator Mae Beavers. I also think its in poor taste for the Lebanon Democrat to not publish a counter point in favor of Senator Beavers.

Anyone who wishes can submit a similar letter in support of Sen. Mae Beavers for re-election. The Democrat has not received such a letter.
