I’m an avid sports fan -- and I do mean avid. I think I was that way in utero, and was born early so that I could watch the World Series that year. Coming from Bonnaroo, the last thing I want to do is be a part of anything negative. However, after much debate, I feel the need to address recent comments made by Arthur Laffer, former Ronald Reagan administration cabinet member and world-renowned economist, during a luncheon recently in Lebanon.

Last week was a busy week for the music industry in and around Nashville. Many of our friends from “The Glade” and Wilson County are involved in the business. Thousands of country music fans converged on Nashville from all over the world. Almost 100,000 rock and roll fans poured into a cow pasture down near Manchester, Tenn. for the big three-day event known as Bonnaroo.

Poet George Herbert once remarked, “One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters.” A local businessman and father of four children said, “I believe that it takes a village … but the village cannot replace a father.”

Here are four questions from Mike Lawrence, and I confess I missed all four. My partner and I both would answer No. 4 as I did, so there.
