Thumbs up to Wilson Central High School teachers Brad Major and DeAna Elwell for working with students to continue the Dogs for Dogs event for the second year. The event, planned for Saturday at Cori’s DogHouse in Mt. Juliet, looks to raise money for the Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter, Country K-9 Rescue and Dreamland Animal Rescue.

If you were to ask me what kind of music I listen to, I’d give you the standard “I listen to everything.” Then you would proceed to roll your eyes and sigh because that response is probably the biggest cliché around.

Wilson Central won the national contest and received $100,000 in addition to the concert.

On Wednesday morning, I visited Fayetteville in Lincoln County, where we lost two Tennesseans as a result of Monday’s tornadoes. Crissy’s and my deepest sympathies and prayers go out to all affected by these devastating storms.

When you read this, I will be in Lebanon, but as I write, I’m in Texas.

Interesting thing about preschoolers, they love food, but it seems like they barely eat. Seriously, how do they survive? This is true for the ones I know, at least.
