Trash TV is wonderful. Anyone who claims otherwise is not to be trusted. Sure, it’s easy to turn up one’s nose at television’s low-brow programs and declare that you would never watch such filth, but everyone has a guilty pleasure.

Normally, I like to think I’m pretty organized. I know where everything in the house is whether it belongs to me, which is a good thing when my husband can’t find his favorite T-shirt (It’s folded up on top of the dresser) or when my daughter is having a meltdown because her Lalaloopsy doll is apparently “gone forever” (It’s on her bed). But in life, and in organization, you win some and you lose some. This is the story of me “losing some” – OK, a lot.

Thumbs up to Lebanon High School Career Technical Education graduation coach Joe Murphy for being named Wilson County Teacher of the Year last week at a banquet to honor him and the other 27 teachers of the year at Cumberland University. Thumbs up also to W.P. Bone III and Bob McDonald for organizing and sponsoring the event for the past 16 years.

Thumbs up to Mt. Juliet High School teacher Edward Johnson after 37 years of service to Wilson County schools and 50 years in education. The Wilson County Board of Education honored Johnson with a plaque at its meeting Monday night.
