To the Editor:
After reading “Doing away with our heritage” in the July 9 edition of The Lebanon Democrat, it appears there are people in our country who see and are concerned with the way our country is sliding fast in the wrong direction.
The Federal Trade Commission emphasizes life experiences in a new campaign to help older adults and their families help each other to fight fraud. The University of Tennessee Extension is promoting a new education campaign designed by the Federal Trade Commission to enlist people over 65 in the effort to recognize and report frauds and scams.
As some of you may have noticed, over the weekend my gun control pen pal admitted that the Supreme Court did rule that the 2nd Amendment is indeed an individual right. She then went on to agree with one of my other statements namely that liberals only adhere to Supreme Court rulings when they agree with them. If not, then the Court is out of line and the ruling is not important.

State Senator Mae Beavers and State Representative Mark Pody have just filed two proposed state laws (Senate Bill1437/House Bill 1412) for consideration by the Tennessee State Legislature. The title of this joint bill is theTennessee Natural Marriage Defense Act.
We all know honest people. I would venture to say we all know hundreds of honest people. By “honest” I mean if someone asked you if a particular person was trustworthy you would say, “yes.” You would not call the person a liar.
