Thumbs up to Lebanon High School Career Technical Education graduation coach Joe Murphy for being named Wilson County Teacher of the Year last week at a banquet to honor him and the other 27 teachers of the year at Cumberland University. Thumbs up also to W.P. Bone III and Bob McDonald for organizing and sponsoring the event for the past 16 years.

“Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress.”
— Martin Luther King Jr.
Thumbs up to Mt. Juliet High School teacher Edward Johnson after 37 years of service to Wilson County schools and 50 years in education. The Wilson County Board of Education honored Johnson with a plaque at its meeting Monday night.
