I have officially found a new sport on ice, besides hockey, that I thoroughly enjoy watching. And, in complete contrast to hockey, which features bone crushing hits and the occasional fight (which usually elicits as many or more cheers as the game itself), this sport has none of that.

We hear from time to time about advocates working on behalf of children – those who do not have the means or the capacity otherwise to defend or support themselves on their own. There are quite a few entities that serve that purpose.

One of the benefits of having moved around more than a handful of times is having a bit of perspective. When you live in a community and to boot, when you publish a newspaper in that community, it doesn’t take long to develop a point of view about the place, people and politics in that community. Everywhere I’ve lived has been unique, but most had their share of challenges.
