Several months ago I started getting more serious about getting back in shape. I’ve tried to make regular trips to the gym (notice I said tried) but those were sporadic at best for several weeks.

Yes. I’m finally discussing Bonnaroo, but only for two reasons. First, I’ve encountered several people who said they were waiting for me to talk about it when I returned (my apologies). Second, I’m in the dumps thinking about my first experience on the farm. I’ve got the Bonnaroo Blues.

It was a fall morning when he was found by our oldest in the apartment parking lot. Seemingly with only one eye, shivering in the autumn chill and as feeling as bewildered as it must get, the kitten lay in a blanket on our back porch.

Thumbs-up to the Fourth of July, which will mark the 239th birthday of this country. It’s been a busy time lately, with issues like the Confederate flag and same-sex marriage dominating the news lately. But never forget that we’re all Americans, we all have a stake in doing what’s best for our fellow Americans, and at the heart of it all, we’re the ones responsible for making sure our country has another prosperous 239 years. And with that, enjoy the fireworks and be safe.
