Thumbs up to all of the candidates who won their respective seats in office during the Aug. 7 election in Wilson County, as well as those who came up short. Both sets of candidates are what make the democratic process so significant. Thumbs up also to the voters who turned out to the polls.
I am merely one man in a nation of more than 300 million people, how can I make a difference? I am sure some of the following arguments will fall upon deaf ears or continue to remain in the sealed box of forbidden topics unable to be discussed among members of different social sects. If nothing else, I can always say, ‘I tried.’
Thumbs up to everyone who early voted, which broke records in Wilson County this year, with more than 11,000 voters casting ballots, along with the thousands of other voters who voted Thursday on Election Day.
