‘Tis the season for giving of ourselves

As many of us are ready or nearly ready to greet a visit from Santa Claus on Christmas morning, know there are still many others who cannot afford such a luxury.
“Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it” (1 Peter 4:10 MSG).
While out looking for that perfect Christmas gift for friends, family and loved ones, let’s not forget those less fortunate who need and deserve our help.
This week, we featured McPherson’s Cleaners’ Twinkle Stars, Friendship Christian School teaming with Possum Town Outreach, local Shriners and others who appear to understand the true spirit of giving.
Though Christmas is less than two weeks away, it’s still not too late to catch this same spirit and offer a little excess many of us have.
If for no other reason, let’s consider the reason for the season. If God was so good that He gave His only son, doesn’t it stand to reason we have something to give as well?
