One of two ATV accident victims remains hospitalized
A Wilson County man injured in a four-wheeler accident Monday remained in the trauma unit Wednesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol released Trooper John Fleming's report on the accident, which happened at 4:24 p.m. and involved two men.
The trooper report said Robert Wyrick and Zachary Wyrick, both of Lebanon, were injured when the Yamaha Grizzly 700 ATV they were riding wrecked while traveling northbound on Swindell Hollow Road.
"The vehicle entered a curve in the roadway too fast, entered the southbound lane of travel, exited the roadway on the left hand side, overturned and ejected both occupants," Fleming said in the report. He said both men were taken by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
The trooper report said Zachary Wyrick, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was treated and released from the hospital, while Robert Wyrick, who was not wearing a helmet, remained in the Vanderbilt trauma unit. His condition was unknown Wednesday evening.
