Bulldogs announce four more signees

Including Watertown's Hill, Mt. Juliet's Carr

Cumberland football coach Donnie Suber announced the signing of four players to scholarships for next season, including Daniel Wilson, Antoniea Sommerrow, Brannon Hill and Cody Carr.

Hill was a football letterwinner for coach Gavin Webster at Watertown High School, rushing for just over 1,000 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior for the Purple Tigers. He also had 177 receiving yards, earning All-District and All-Region accolades as well as three Music City Star Player of the Week honors. He is also a two-time All-District selection in baseball as well.

Carr lettered four years for coach Roger Perry at Mt. Juliet High School, earning first team All-State and All-Midstate honors as well as District 9-AAA Defensive Player of the Year accolades as a senior. He participated in the Toyota East-West All-Star Game and was selected for the Tennessee-Kentucky All-Star Game as well.

Carr was a three-year starter for the Golden Bears, collecting 347 career tackles with five blocked punts. He was an All-District and won Team Defensive MVP honors as a sophomore and junior. He is the son of Randy and Maria Carr.

Wilson lettered in football for coach Robear Freeman at Martin Luther King, Jr., High School in Lithonia, Ga., earning All-County accolades as a junior and senior. He also wrestled at MLK and was ranked No. 2 in the county and No. 6 in the state in 2010-11. He earned MVP honors in wrestling for three straight years. He is the son of Gerald and Natalie Wilson.

Sommerrow earned four letters in football for coach Tony Webb at Lookout Valley High School in Chattanooga, garnering All-Region honors and the Coach’s Award as a senior. He is also a three-year letterwinner in baseball, collecting the most stolen bases in his last two seasons. Sommerrow is the senior class president, attended Boys State and is a member of the student council and honor roll. He is the son of Tracey Freeman and Antoniea Sommerrow Sr.

Cumberland previously announced nine signees for the 2013 season, including Ethan Copas, Taylor Jones, Brady Eady, Keithandre Murray, Dylan Mathis, Mason Pavan. De’Anthone Morse, Chris Golden and Kentavious Eberhart.
